fair price?

I was wondering something. I am lookin for a ford focus. I think I have found one. It is a Liquid gray 2000 ZX3 with a 5 spd. They want about $4000 for it. It has around 79,XXX miles on it and no major damage. Does anyone have any Imput?

I have talked this over with GreenFaleen and he seems to think this is a good deal.

If i get one, it will be my DD for college. I have a 300+ mile trip one way. besides I have my 68 for the V8

My ex had the ZTS and not the hatch version but I really liked it. Thought it was a bit of a high-center car but nothing some springs wouldn't fix. Other than that I thought the interior was quite nice and the little engine that could got up when it needed to - and might be a DD for me in the future as well.

I'm not sure if that is a good deal or not. I was just looking in the paper tonight and seen that our local Ford dealership is selling 2007 Focus's for $9,997 after dealer discount and that comes with 0% financing.

Just keep in mind that the 2000 is the intro model year of the American version, so it has quite a few bugs. My brothers both have Focuses, one is a 2000 sedan auto, the other is an '03 ZX3 auto. The '00 had a mysterious starting problem, and I spent days under it trying to figure it out. Plus, there were several recalls of parts on it that if they haven't been taken care of by now, Ford probably won't replace.

About a year and a half ago I bought a 01 Focus SE for about 5000, then extended warranty bumped it up to about 7k. About a month later, the axle snapped off and sent me into a guard rail. 2nd Focus I saw go into a guard rail lol. Got the money back, bought an 02 Cavalier, and then the Mustang afterwards, damn I miss that car.

But an ZX3 for 4k is a good deal in my book, always wanted a ZX series or ZTS. Even an SVT would pass..
