well theres nothing wrong with tellin' the truth, and remember to get a nice clean-cut haircut and trim facial hair(if any) all nice and neat, when I went to my court date the judge actually noticed and mentioned how he liked the fact that I dressed proper and had a fresh haircut and a clean shaved face, he told the other guys they should do the same thing when goin to a court date, it was funny

That would be true in the short-term, but the ticket would still go on his record. Should the insurance company ever manage to see that ticket then he could be facing some sort of fraud charge.

Say you just pay the fine, lose a point. No biggie. Then you get stopped again and its for failure to yield. You just wanna pay the fine there too, but you have a prior moving violation. Hmmm... Now you have to go to court. You will be considered a repeat offender. And the points will be more. Traffic school, insurance provider may drop you, at the least, you will be out into a different catagory w/ them. Then, you get to pay the big bucks to keep coverage.

Now, say you go to court for the cross walk thing. It gets turned into a non moving violation. You get defective equipment. Nobody cares about that. It will never be a factor with law enforcement or your insurance.

I have been to court many times for similiar things. Yeah, up front its cheaper to just pay the fine, but man, in the long run, the $350 or so you pay to the court and a lawyer, that ain't nothin' compared to skyrocket insurance rates and know that if you so much as don't dim your brights, the cops are gonna cite ya, shit. It is a headache.

Do what you wanna do, but thats my advice bro. Take it or leave it. I ain't here to preach, just the devils advocate.

How the hell did you get soo friggin lucky??

Here in The Show-me State, anything 30+MPH over the posted speed limit is involuntary suicide and they automatically pull your license, not questions asked, do not pass go, do not call anybody. Spend 24hrs in jail and have a relative pick you up later.

And your insurance provider didn't ding ya for it? Who the hell do you have?

I'm friggin switchin to the "We don't really care what you do in your car, so long as you don't hit anybody and cause a wreck" insurance agency you got lol

The fine is the least of your concerns. That can be taken care of. You need to be more concerned about keeping a clean driving record and not getting dinged on your insurance and mom and dad makin you get a Pontiac Grand Am or something like that.

OK... And....?

He was speeding. You failed the right-of-way to pedestrians. Thats a big no-no... Pedestrians rule the city roadways.

Make some calls to lawyers and ask their opinion. Thats free. And it could be an easy out.

I'm 26 and have had 2speeding ticktes. I've been driving for over a decade. I got my very first ticket at the age of 17. It was speeding. All I did was pay the fine. $84. No problem. My insurance went up over $35 a month for the next 3yrs.

Do the math: 35x12=$420 per year x 3yrs=$1260 Now, take that $1260-$350 for fees=$910 in your pocket.

You need to think years not months man.
