Sales Tip

Don't let your customer sit around and think about their possible purchase. I'd been lookin online at the HTC Desire today and was bidding on one on eBay. I ended up losing it so I figured I'd just go buy one from my service provider because the phone seems entirely worth it. Well I went in and there were a whole bunch of people standing around waiting to get their phones fixed. Most of the issues were things they could fix there at little to no charge. I ended up sitting around for a half hour before I decided to say fuck it and leave. They can keep helping people who are in there for cheap little things. I'll save my $500 and put up with my shitty phone for the time being. It's not too much longer before my contract runs out and I can see what other providers have for phones. If they would have had someone there dedicated to sales and only sales, I'd be sitting here telling you about my new HTC Desire instead.

Lol I've got US Cellular. I think it's an Iowa and surrounding states company. It's $500 from them but I'd found one for $400 on ebay. Only other one on ebay is $550

Hell you can buy Iphone4's on Ebay for 900 bucks. Or order one and wait a week for one to come in at ATT and only pay 600...And thats buying it flat out no contract, same as ebay.

I guess waiting a week inst worth an extra 300 bucks to some people. Idiots....

I never understood the people that would pay a ton extra just to get shit a week early. Or like the Wii's a few years ago when people would buy out an entire store's supply and go sell them on ebay for 2-3x what they paid. Fuck that, I'd tell my kids they were waiting until the store got more in stock before I'd pay that much.

People want to 1-up their friends by having the next best thing first... a shitpile of money is made off of this.

Works best when there is a shortage.. like when the 360 came out. People would pay insane amounts of money on ebay to get their hands on one.

Yeah I remember that. There was one guy who even listed just the box from his 360 but worded it to it sounded like you were getting the whole 360, but stated in it that it was only the box. Apparently people were so desperate that they bidded it up to $1500. I'm sure whoever won it was pissed when it arrived
