Nissan Skyline r34 GTR wrecked

some guy racing on 417 6am before the big morning rush wrecked it at about 150 hitting the side wall then going crasy after......not only did he get thrown from the car and died...the passenger walked away from it into the car they were racing against...the skyline wasn't registered or any kind of fake plates...so being people like to not pay the fee of a true JDM this car was def illegal on the roads.....what a shame...theres another r34 GTR around at a dealership for about 139,000$ its pretty well done

I call it BS on not being legal. There is only ONE company that imports Skylines, and they legalize them through the USDOT for US roads before they're ever sold. Period.

You still have to get it through US customs which is a lot of paperwork, and they won't let you just take it off the docks and drive it home.

It has to be made USDOT legal, no way in hell are you getting one here without paying for it. Unless you ship it in pieces.

If you have the money to pay for a car, why would you not want to make it legal? It'd suck to drive something that is a rarity in this country that isn't legal. That's just jailtime you're begging to get.

Why not just get the car you want legally and be done with it? If you have 70k to import it in the first place, you have the money to legalize it.

Hey is there news footage of this ? I'm wondering because I would like to see that gtr r34.

Also 2 years ago I was a r34 die hard fan, I looked into every thing on it and you can get them legal in US but you have to have some body convert the drivers side to the left and they have to do paper work on the VIN number because in japan they use what is invalid characters in US.

It doesn't HAVE to be converted to LHD, there are several RHD cars from JDM land in the US.

+1 Mail trucks for instance... Minus the whole JDM thing lol

Here in KC, we are home to a 1000HP Skyline. R32 I believe. Jake Deiman (pronounced Demon) formerly of Deiman Motorsports has it. He is an Asian car guru!! That dude is amazing with Mitsu's Subies, and Nissans. He now works every other weekend out of Imagine Auto Performance Salon in Lenexa KS. Imagine has the ONLY AWD dyno in KS. The next closest one is in St. Louis MO. About 4hrs from KC... Very sic car...

Shitty about the dude dying... But, you have to know the risks and be able to live with 'em.
