All right. If we can please leave off topic stuff out of this thread now, people. I doubt this is a scam, and out of respect let's wish this man's wife well, and donate if you can.

Just because you work for a large, profitable company does not mean you make "loads of money." This is an average, middle-income family that went from having 2 incomes, to 1 along with the addition of medical bills in upwards of $700 per week.

I apologize if I am a little touchy, but this is a very big deal to us, which is why we have posted it in several forums. We have witnessed first hand how cancer can devastate a family. Money is always an added stresser. We are trying to do everything in our power to help Mike and his family get through this and do not want anything to derail us. We have spent countless hours putting this together and trying to get it out there as much as possible and this is the only site that we have been met with negativity and apprehension. I hope that you can understand our position and offer at least your prayers for Mike and his family if nothing else.

It is perfectly understandable, and no apology is necessary. I know all too well what it is like to watch your wife struggle for her life. So I meant what I said when I will be sending well wishes, positive thoughts, and prayers her way.

I am unable to contribute financially for the next week or two due to my own personal situation, but if that changes for me I will make my own contribution.

I'm going to agree, this doesn't really look like a scam. I did a little searching and came up with some stuff that might help show them in a little better light:

Total Performance Engineering's Facebook:

Total Performance Engineering | Facebook

Their post on Camaro5 (where they're a site sponsor):
PLEASE help a friend in need - 2011 Camaro Z28 Camaro Forum / Camaro Z28 SS Forums - Camaro5.com

It looks like they're more of less involved in GM forums (I think they sponsor a few others besides Camaro5) like he said, but they're really reaching out to Mustang owners because so many Mustang owners use KB superchargers.

I think a mod should email mike so that a formal announcement can be made and any misunderstanding can be cleared.

not saying any of this isn't legitimate its just until it is made CLEAR TO EVERYONE on here that it is legit, most people will be scared away.

We have great news to announce to everyone. Thanks to people's generosity, we have now generated just over $3,000.00 dollars for Mike and his family. But as I said before, we are still approximately $12,000.00 short of our goal, in order to guarantee Mikes financial stability.

We are happy to say that Mike was able to transfer $2,200.00 into his account this morning. What does this mean?? This means that you guys have given him and his wife a couple weeks of financially worry free times.
Medical costs are running in upwards of 500-700 PER WEEK (over 100.00 every time she goes to each Doctor). So with this money, not only can Mike afford to take extra days off work, but thanks to you ALL he can write that check for the Co-pays and prescriptions without any worries as to where the money is coming from.

Guys and Gals, I lost my best friend, and the godfather to my children 9 years ago from Cancer. He died at the age of 25 years old. This was devastating to me, my wife, and my kids. But what was even more devastating, was finding out that his family couldnt afford a proper service. So what was supposed to be a celebration of his short life, turned into a beg, borrow, and steal week, in order to make an "attempt" to honor him in the proper manner.

What made it worse, was the fact that I was left with the burden of knowing that I am the one who told him to get the bone marrow transplant to early.

My point being, is that this disease can take a person on a moments notice. The family is so caught up with getting them better, that they dont think of the "Other" preparations that need to be considered. Now I firmly believe that Kristi is going to beat the odds, but I dont want to be naive.

Your donations are bridging that gap between dispare, and hope. The feeling of "We Can Not", to the feeling of "We Will".

Each and every person who has given to Mike and his family will be getting a personal thank you from Mike, Kristi, and his kids. But more importantly, I want you to know personally, that on behalf of my family, you guys have truely changed the way I feel about strangers in general. We are forever changed by the sheer love for your fellow man and woman.

These times are tough, but even in these difficult times, we have gotten everything from $500.00+ dollar donations from the very wealthy, to $1.00 donations from the unemployed and on government assistance. We have even received donations from Muslems in Iraq, even though we are at war in their country.

Regardless of the outcome, your generosity in these difficult times shows the true love of a man and his family.

God bless you all. Even to those who can not spare 1.00, but have given the gift of a heartfelt prayer.

I am honored to say you guys are friends of ours

P.S. Mike and I spoke yesterday, and God forbid this does not turn out as everyone is hoping, the excess money, after expenses are paid, will be given to his children, in their mothers name, as a final gift for their fight through life. So no mtter what, your donations will make an impact for many many years to come.
