It runs the LSA from the CTS-V, which is a detuned version of the LS9 found in the ZR1.

Being that it's right about the same power as the GT500 but heavier, I doubt it's going to have the same performance out of the box as the Shelby.

I still think the Camaros look like crap, no relation to its heritage at all. Doesn't sound all that great either.

they said if im not mistaken it was suppose to resemble a 69' camaro. certain parts do but for the most part i dont like it. its to big and bulky. most people like it becuase it looks like a concept car. i really cant stand it. i think the challenger is the closest when it comes to resembling its heritage.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I'd be shocked if the Shelby's performance numbers weren't exactly what GM was looking to edge out, though, and the LSA as it sits in the Caddies puts out 550 lb-ft to the 5.4's 510. I'm not sure what the actual weight difference between the two cars is, though I thought the LSA was iron block, which is gonna make the Z even more zomg-heavy than a regular 5th-gen, as those all run aluminum blocks.

So, you're probably right.

shelbys new engine reduced weight by 120 lbs i heard. but i mean that camaro ss is already a whale and putting a big engine like that isnt going to help, plus i heard its got upgraded interior so that might put some more weight. i know that the 11' gt500kr hits a 0-60 of 4.2. the caddy is faster but the z/28... well we will half to wait and see

are you sure?? i know 08 was the 40th anniversary, and to make sure i just googled 09 and they made a kr to. i think there wasnt a kr for 10' but now i think its back for 11' ????

Link? The only KRs I'm aware of are the '68.5, which was to differentiate those GT-500s that came with the 428 from those that has the 427, and the batch of 80 or so '08s that were each "hand delivered" to their new owners.

they dont make the KR anymore all the newer gt500's now have the same upgrades and sport 540hp like the KR did.
