Question

Winter storing your Stang?

I just read a couple articles on winter storage and have seen everythign from cover the bottom of car in plastic, wax the car, clean the interior, Jackstands, and filling the car to the top, and disconnecting fuel system harness. So I was wondering what those of you who store you cars actually do to prepare it for storage.

I will have heated storage.

I did nothing, just parked it in my little canvas building. I would start it every couple weeks and let it run for a little bit.

When I had a car to store I would put sta-bil in the tank and run it around for 5-10 miles so it would get through the system. Then come home and wash, wax, put in garage, and cover w/ car cover.

I do the same thing w/ my boats. Sta-bil, drive, wash, wax, and cover.

I put mine in my cold, unheated garage with fresh oil and plug in my battery tender. If we should get a power failure, I could be screwed. I have a couple of weeks but am fortunate that I can do this.

I winterize by parking it in the driveway and driving it back and forth to work.
