they say there will be 1000 produced but Carroll says different. probably more like 1251.

Shelby and Boylan’s statements could possibly mean that Shelby Autos will build more than the 1,000 GT500KRs like everyone has been reporting. Aside from the upcoming 2008 model, the only other year that a GT500KR was offered for sale was back in 1968. In that year, they only built a handful – 1,251 in fact. Maybe they'll end up building 1,251 KRs in 2008 too?

Ya know, not to badmouth Carroll Shelby at all (he produces some AMAZING cars, mustangs especially), but I think that he's gone a bit overboard with putting his name all over his cars. At this point he doesn't need any superfluous advertising. Its so damn prominent on the hood this time around...

funny thing is their going to be so expensive only rich folks can buy them and wont drive them like their supposed to be driven

Yeah, but thats why Hertz has their Shelby thing going on. Does anyone know if they're getting the '08 for rental? I'd love to drive one around for a week.
