V6 haters and Youtube harassing

I need to vent a little tonight guys.

As you can see, I don't post much on here; I mainly just look at topics already posted and find most of my questions already answered. But I've been dealing with, and noticing others dealing with, a really bad problem that I want to discuss.

With all the news lately about cyberbullying and harassment, it seems like more and more people are using the internet to just be flat out cruel towards someone's car, in this case a V6 Mustang. Youtube seems to be the most common place for this. I've seen my share of Mustang videos, V8 and V6 and everything else. I've seen quite a few cruel remarks, and I've personally received unkind remarks towards my own. Some I simply disagree with, let them have their opinion, and move on. But it seems like some just want to be borderline maniacal about it, as if owning a V6 Mustang is a joke, or a sin. Or, the most common line, "Dude, grow a pair and get a V8."

Now nevermind the fact that

A) 65% of Mustangs sold are V6s, and Ford more or less depends on them to support the bigger models.
B) The new '11 V6s can outrun every pre-'05 GT without major mods.
C) I've personally seen 500 WHEEL horsepower V6s with a supercharger, and 800 wheel horsepower on a turbo kit.
D) I have raced 4 GTs, and defeated 2 of them, and I'm nowhere near done with my mods.

Now I'm sure most of these remarks come from 17 year old punk 3rd string QBs who only make these comments because they are safely behind a computer screen. No one has ever talked crap about my car directly to my face; they have to hide behind the internet to do that I guess.

And again, it's not just me. I see this in everyone's videos. But the majority of it, and the most unkind of it, seems to be aimed at the V6 crowd. Now of course our cars are the lowest performing models, but it's not like we have anything to be ashamed of. Do construction workers give other crewman crap because they only bought the F-250 and not the 350 or 450? I mean give me a break. The smallest rattlesnake can still pack a deadly bite to anything that messes with it.

Of course I wanted the GT when I was buying. I would also like Andrea Rincon in my bed with me tonight (google her). Actually I wanted an '03-'04 Mach 1, but after 9 months of searching, the only V8s we could find were either high mileage, abused, the wrong color, automatics, convertibles (yes I am picky about the options I wanted), then this '01 V6 5 speed hardtop in shiny black with only 26,000 original miles of 45 year old lady driving showed up, and I took it.

The other thing that bothers me is that a lot of the hating, at least towards me, comes from other Mustang owners, particularly GT owners. I don't know how many times I've been in public and given a compliment to the GT guy, only to be returned with no acknowledgement or a snobby look. Now I know not all GT owners are A-holes, but I just seem to run into all of them.

It's also one of the main reasons I don't join any of the Mustang clubs, local car clubs, put my car in shows, and why I really don't post on boards. I just seem to meet the worst owners who give me absolutely no respect. The last time I tried to join a club, the first post I made, I was given a BS flag after my first race story, and the next thing I knew I had a half dozen other posters calling me a liar.

This group seems to have some pretty cool posters, so that's why I'm here now.

Ok now I feel better.

By the way, the most recent comment I received was, "why does anyone waste money on a V6, why not just buy a V8?" to which I replied, "Why does anyone waste money on a V8, why not just buy a V10 or V12?"

Anyone have any better lines than that to use?

If it weren't for the v6 Mustangs... Then there would most likely be NO 'Stangs in production today. Think about the 6er/v8 Mustang ration you see every day. v6 stangs were cheap, looked great, and got pretty descent gas mileage. I dunno why everyone thinks just because you did some mods to your v6 you are "wasting" money... People mod all different cars..so IMO who gives a fuck. Plus you tube haters always sound dumb and take time to find your video to bitch about it. Get a life. They are probably driving their moms camry with a AR wing and a fart can from vato zone..

I am a proud owner of a '95 v6(My first car) and a GT. And I love my v6. It helped start my 'stang love.

I have a Camaro problem where i live... there is a guy in town with a '98 or so z28 and his daddy is a chebby guy... So he pretty much isnt allowed to get anything that is not a GM product... So his dad told him GM is the shit and his camaro is soooo fast. So he goes and talks about how quick his car is.. And he couldnt tell the spark plug from the alternator.... So really, he is amusing to me. Just enjoy it.. Cause they are probably just dumb haters..

Nice. 6 spd manual with the 3.31 option?

It's really insane how good those run. Our local dealer still hasn't picked up a manual, so I test drove an auto with the 2.73 standard. But even that was pretty sweet.

I, as a GT owner, have respect for V6 mustangs that look classy and don't attempt to look like GT's. I think the problem is that there are so many 6er stangs out there with GT badges or that are just trying to be GTs, or that are just flat out rice, that us GT owners think they give Mustangs a bad name. Honestly though, the new 2011 V6 Mustang has balls, and people say so every single time they get in one to do a test drive with me. I would never DARE harass a new 2011.

Here is how V6 Mustangs get a bad name IMHO. I sold a supercharged 2003 V6 Mustang about two months ago, and the car was bored out to 4.3L and had a Procharger Supercharger running about 8 psi, but the guy had put this body kit on the car with Lexani rims that just made the thing look absolutely awful. The body kit wasn't all awful, but it had lambo doors, and the wheels were just awful. Look for yourself.

Now the car pulled like my GT and could probably hang right with it. But the dude had poured $13,000 into a supercharger kit, a motor build, exhaust, lambo doors, paint, body panels, stereo system, a tweed headliner with raised flames, shaved door handles, lexani rims, etc. that it all just seemed kind of ridiculous that he didn't just buy a GT, and put $6,000 into that and then just blow the doors off of everything in sight.

He traded his 2003 in for a 2011 black 5.0 hardtop with brick red leather.

I guess what I am saying is, there are some V6 mustangs out there that I have seen and I think are just badass. But, unfortunately, the majority of them (especially here in Greeley, Colorado...) are just turned into rice-stangs with Cobra R wings and GT badges with a single exhaust hanging down ya know? I've got no beef with a dude who takes a V6 Mustang and just makes it clean, classy, and badass I've got nothing but respect for that.

Like this guy for instance.

Hopefully not, but I can literally count on one hand the number of V8 'stang owners who have not given me crap.

And thanks lol

My personal favorite is the guys who try to tell me their car makes a certain amount of power when I know more about their own car than they do. A few years ago this guy at a gas station with a '99-'04 GT told me "Yea this bad ass thing makes 310 hp stock from the factory"

Had another car salesman one time who told me over the phone about the "bone stock" '04 Mach 1 they had for sale. He says, "Yes sir, a bone stock 450 horsepower Mach 1."

Here's the thing. People who bash on someones car just because its engine is missing 2 cylinders have small dicks. Since they have small dicks, they feel the need to find something to make them feel more like a man. Thus, they feel that they are somewhat superior as a person because they MIGHT have a bigger engine despite their dick being smaller. Case closed.

Yea I hear ya. Don't worry, I will be one of the badass V6s in a few years, depending on the economy.

I would certainly never try to pretend I've got a V8. There was a guy my age around here (southern Illinois) who had an old 2.3 4 cylinder and put 5.0 badges on the sides. Still complete with the cappy base rims and tires and all. lol

And my God that guy sure made that white stang look awful. I shed a tear on that one.
