I met Ashley on Tuesday of last week. I ask her if she wants to come up on Saturday and go 4wheeler ridin' with me and some buddies. She accepts my offer. Sweet....

I meet her Saturday afternoon and we go out to where my buddies are. It's all good. My buddies are doing a remarkable job of not being jackasses. We are out havin' a good time.

She and I are riding tandem on one of my buddies ATV's. We come up to a crossing. We had crossed this damn thing like 8 times prior. Not a problem one. I forgot that on Friday, we re-adjusted this particular ATV's suspension for jumping. Really, really squishy. I am driving and we get into the bottom of the crossing and I apply the smallest amount of throttle. Heheh... Its a 2stroke. No power till it wants to make it.

Brommmmm!! It hits the powerband and all I can see is the tops of trees! SHIT!!!! I start leaning forward to try to bring it back down, but to no avail. She falls off and it completely disrupts the balance. I bail off backwards and I land on Ashley. Hahah.... I start to ask if she is ok, then it hits me; the 4wheeler is still in the air. I see it coming down and I try to place my feet back on the nurf bars to kick it off of us.

It wraps my ankle up and pulls me over the rest of the way onto my head and neck. Then it rotates and comes down. On my chest. Not in a normal manner either. I take the very end of the handlebar right under my breast plate, above the first rib. I can't really breath, so I try to kick it off of us, but my ankle is still stuck. I hear what sounds like a celary stalk being ripped in half. Then it hurts... My toes meet the heel of the same foot.

Finally, the ride is over. I roll off of Ashley and bend down to help her up and I hear more popping and I feel a sharp pain in my torso. FUCK... I think I broke a rib or two. I tough it out and get her back to her feet. She says she's fine. Asks how I am doing. Yup... I'll get back to ya on that one.

My buddy Justin comes running over and get his hand caught in a thorn bush. He didn't feel it. He goes to help me help her and starts slingin' blood all over our helmets. Thats kinda funny.

We get it flipped back right-side-up. Its fine. No cracks or breaks in the plastic. It was still runnin' thru the whole ordeal. Fuckin' thing...

Ashley hasn't spoken to me since Saturday night...

I'm doin' ok. I was one of the few times I have actually been scared on/in anything with an internal combution engine.

I don't think it had anything to do w/ gettting thrown off the quad. She runs her own business and is a manager at a QT. Very busy girl...

If she's basing me on that one incident, yeah, whatever. My self-esteem is good enough that I ain't gonna bet crushed... Emotionally anyway LOL

My ankle is kind sore. Sucks, cause I do MMA and not havin' both my feet under me really limits my mobility. I am fairly certain I tore the cartilage from my upper ribs too. Got a pretty good sized lump on the outside of my torso...

But, I'd do it all over again! If nothing else, just to tell the story!

glad your at least okay man. reading your story reminds me of when i robe my bros friends new atv. i don't remember what kind, but all i know is it was a 2wd 470cc... i was coming up a hill and hit a bump which made me slam the throttle down. I tell you what, that sum bitch was sensitive and just like that i was staring at the sky. The thing drug me on my ass for about 10 ft then i let go. only reason i held on is so that it didn't run into the cars... jack ass stunt on both our parts. Hope you have a speedy recover
