Can you get any dumber?

My teacher told us that one of her students turned in his 5-7pg research paper today and he had cited the website he bought his paper from in his bibliography!

honestly how stupid is he?

im not sure if you guys knew this but there are programs or something that schools have/use that scan your paper then check the internet for anything that resembles something in your paper for plagarism so checking for plagarism is as easy as scanning a paper which sucks. Schools are so strict about plagarism that borrowing an idea needs to be cited. in highschool i was taught that if you summarize what you read then you didnt need to cite it, well not in college, but im not sure if its always been like that

That's why I'm glad I went to school before the internet was plugged into it.

You used something called a pen and a piece of paper and you spent countless hours copying shit out of these things called books.

HAHA.....We even had to do that in college! OH NO!

We had about 5 computers in our whole school, and they all had a monochromatic screen. I never took a computer class until my senior year. The first time I was ever on the internet, or had an email address was in college.

I would say, "that was the good old days", but screw that! Remember when you wanted hot rod parts you either had to buy a magazine, then buy a catalog, then order your parts, then wait 6 months to get your crap. Or go to the local performance shop and pay 10x for parts you didn't even want, but they were on the shelf and you could have them that day?

And there weren't message boards to get instant, real world, information from. If you wanted a good combo, you had to go with people you knew.

my teacher told me once he had two students turn in the same paper. he questioned one of the students and he admitted right off the bat that he downloaded the paper from a website. because of his honesty, the teacher let him have a second chance to write the paper on his own. he then met with the second student and asked him if he wrote the paper. the student said he did. the teacher intimidated him with all the repercussions of plagiarism but the student insisted he wrote the paper. The teacher then said, "I had a second student in another class turn in the same paper, he already admitted he found the paper online. because you continue to lie to me I am going to have to have you expelled." The student said back to him, "I'm the one who wrote the paper and sold it to that website."

true story.
