Won Ebay auction accidentally and dont want item??

I just bought a Surefire M962, brand new, on Ebay for $100 shipped. STEAL! Well, I had already bid on another Surefire M951. I got into a bidding war with another person and there was 23 bids and the item was at $95 with me being the high bidder. I was thinking greeaaat now I'm going to have to buy both. I wasn't not going to buy it. I would of still bought it. I just got outbidded on it finally.

I've been using my iPhone4 with the eBay app to watch a lot of auctions. I was watching a Streamlight TLR1. It was at like $90 and the auction ended. I was thinking about bidding but never even did anything. Well the auction ended, next thing I know I look at who won the item and it says my username. I left the auction came back, still said my name. At this point I was kind of pissed off. In the next 5 minutes, it showed the correct buyer. Good stuff... -_-

I am going to post what the other seller said to do in order to end the auction. Would you do this? Or can bid a regular bid then your maximum bid after and will the seller be able to see it and end the auction for the maximum bid I placed?

"In order for me to end auction I need you to send me a paypal payment to me for $135 plus 15.90 shipping. You can send me a payment through the paypal website using my email address (deleted for his privacy) & as soon as I see the payment you sent then I will end auction. I hope you understand. Thank you."

You could just bite the bullet and buy it, get the guy to ship it to you then turn around and relist it.

It is a bunch of shit to go through, and if it was something nobody wanted, you will have a hard time selling it, but it's probably the right thing to do.

Look at it from the seller's perspective.. If you don't take it, the guy is out of his listing fee AND he lost other potential bidders who probably already won an auction elsewhere.

I tried to leave negative feedback for an idiot that didnt pay. And it says that the seller cannot leave negative feedback for the buyer. I just had to submit a non payer form to ebay.

Yeah they took that off a few months ago, so that people couldnt retaliate for negative feedback.

Don't pay for anything before the auction ends...that's just common sense.
Unless it was a "buy it now" item and there are more than 1 in stock. It'll show up under your recently won/bid on items if that's the case.
Maybe I misread something, but why are you paying more for the item now than when you accidentally bid on it?

I had an issue where my browser shut down and confirmed my bid (or buy it now, I think) on the wrong item (had two tabs open to compare, wasn't hitting bid buttons yet). But they were for the same seller, who was awesome and helped me fix it. Shit happens, ya know?

Ok well that seller contacted me after all today and they dont seem to mind if I dont purchase it or if I do. I am on the fence here guys and need some help. I have another seller that will sell me his used once makita 9227C Polisher (8 to 10 hours of use so he claims) for $135 +15.90 =$150.90 or I can get the new one in box that I won for $163 +12=$175.00 What would you guys do get the new or get the used. The price difference is $25.00 take into consideration that I still need to purchase a backing plate (to attach the polishing pads) and it costs from $25 to $65 depending on the one I get.
