If your going to be getting irish settlers, definatly get them at a redwing retailer youl get a nice warrenty with them, ie shoe cleans, laces, resoles...etc
Mine are 10in 800mg Gunflints that i wear everyday and theyv held up strong... iv put them up against Bodacious (if your in virginia youl know exactly what im talking about) mud bogs, woods, work, log splitting, fires, everything. and there strong. you may not like a 10in boot like i do because if your not use to wearing that high of a boot you might walk like you have a stick up your ass haha but i love my boots, you'd be set with a pair of 600mg for year around.
