I recently put my bow up on CL. I've got about 400 bucks in it. posted it for 500 to see if anyone bites on it. After about 6 hours i had someone reply to the message. At first they offered me a Savage .223 bolt action with a scope and some cash. I told him i was looking for a semi auto pref.

Then he offers me a Benelli Supernova pump action 12g. I told him i wasnt really interested. The next day he asked if i was at all interested in either guns. And at this point i had a guy that was lookin to buy one of them if not both the guns from me. so i asked what kinda deal he'd shoot me for both of them.

STRAIGHT trade?!? Would you guys trade these two guns for a 400 dollar bow?

The only reason im selling it is because the Mrs. said that if she's getting the AR i have to sell my bow (sits in my closet 6 days outa the week any way)

Well thats the thing, im going to end up selling the rifle to one of my buddies, and the Benelli will allow me to turkey hunt with my friends and goose hunt with my inlaws.

Also i can get a slug barrel for the benneli to go deer hunting with.

But i completely understand what you are saying. My other option was to take the benelli in and trade it towards a rifle that i can have fun with. like the AR.

Im just trying to figure out if the trade in on the two guns would be higher the the trade in on the bow.

The Beneli new costs more than what you're asking for the bow. Throw in a Savage in .223 and you're way above your asking price on the bow.
I would wonder though why he's so desperate to get rid of those guns. Someting wrong with them? A lot of people will dump their broken crap off on someone else.

looking on gunbroker the savage .223 is going from $500 to $585 and the shotgun is going for $300 to $545

Also make sure they are not stolen if any deals look to good to be true...


Anyone school me as to why a .223 bolt is going for that much? I was going to guess it was worth around $200

Well he had also posted on CL that he's searching for a new bow to bow hunt with his boy. and would pay cash or trade "things that go bang". and i figured if i took my bow to the pawn shop i'd only get 2-3 hundred for it. but if i would take both these guns, then i could get some pretty decent trade in value towards something fun. idk?

How do i check whether the gun is stolen or not? because i would HATE to take those guns to the pawn shop and somehow they track down they'd been stolen and i get FUCKED. haha

You can have a cop do a "stand by" when you make the deal. If he backs out when you let him know this, its a raw deal. They can check serial numbers over the radio/computer. Its probably a good idea to have them do a stand by any time you make any deal on CL

Ask him for the serial numbers for both guns and call the PD and ask them to run them through NCIC to see if they come up stolen.

If they are legit, that is a hell of a deal.

Than when you get there make sure the serial numbers are the same ones he originally gave you.

sweet trade!!!! i would never trade those 2 guns for any bow but definetly would trade my bow for the 2 guns!

the savage would be a great coyote hunting gun or just fun sniping, and 2 of my buddies have super novas and they are a great shotty usually a bit pricey for my taste but your getting a deal1
