This is absolutely horrible. My thoughts & prayers go out to all the people involved here. I can't understand why they didn't close the entire campus after the first shooting.....

A shooting doesn't get the entire school evacuated just because it was 'an isolated event'? Jesus. This is unforgivable.

I guess until we have a complete & total change in our legal systems (Canada is similar in it's insane leniency), we will continue to see tragic things like this. We don't need more gun control, we need criminal control. Criminals or potential criminals need to know that if they pick up any weapon and use it to harm another human being, that they are going to be punished severely and swiftly.

+1 Definitely NOT the cops' fault here at all. Yes the school should have been on lockdown, I thought that was standard protocol across the nation whenever there has been even the most minor of criminal behavior let alone somebody getting shot. Cryin out loud. I say hold the finger pointing for awhile, lets send our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of those innocent we have lost today.

The school also didnt file the right kind of report for the situation. They called it an incident inferring that it was done, when it truly wasn't.

u guys hav a point about the hindsight thing. but it is helpful to blame some1. see, if u make the person look like an ass for not doing something, everyone else is gonna do it when the time comes.

and it definitely IS the cops fault. out here, someone was showin his gun to some ppl and 5 mins later the cops had the block locked down and were jus forcin ppl to the ground to check for guns. they got the bastards too, highly uncomfortable of course, but it worked

I'm far from a cnn listener or watcher. I'm almost 40 bro, and I've been around enough to know how the media works, and not to believe everything I see and read in the news. I also know that hindsight is 20/20. That being said, I think asking why the campus wasn't locked down, or people weren't at least made aware of the first shooting, is a legitimate question. it's not a question of me blaming the cops or anyone. Having worked on the highways beside the cops for a couple of years, and having a father who was a fire fighter for 30 years, I respect what all emergency people do. My point is, if people don't question things that could possibly have been done better or differently, then we run the risk of not making things better for future events.

I bet if you were one of the people in the second event, you would sure as hell be wanting to know why you weren't at least advised of the initial shooting. Of course, It's early and we don't really know all the details, I'm just making the point that I'm not just blindly pointing fingers at the police.
