Online taxes

Is it a good thing to use Turbotax.com? It seems pretty easy signing up and what not.

I just have the easy form too with no dependents or anything so it also makes it free and easy.

Any good?

I have used it every year since I was 18, so like 6 years now. It works great and it keeps your tax return info so if you buy the deluxe (19.99) the next year it automatically fills out all the info needed from last year and your name address etc. It makes taxes very fast. I get them done in under 30 minutes usually.

And hows the return work? You just provide your bank info and they direct deposit it?

Also I only have one of my W2's so im waiting for the other two. I want to keep a record of how much im getting back so if I just put in my first one then save it and wait for the second one am I good to go?

I've used it for 3 years. I buy the deluxe addition as I have 2 kids and makes EIC easier, along with other Tax credits. Fill in the info, follow the instructions and you shouldn't have a problem. Plug in the bank info when they ask for it, and they SHOULD if they still do it like last year, offer incase of need, audit assistance, and they will deduct the amount of which program you use *unless its the federal free* straight from the return so there's no out of pocket expense.

You can start to fill it out, save it, and come back later with the 2nd W2.

Also, the return can come either a check in the mail 4-8 weeks. A debit card (like 1 to 2 weeks) or Direct Deposit to your bank account (8-14 days). Although I have had some times where I got my return sooner than 8 days lol.

I have never had a problem getting my return and it has always been done in a prompt fashion.

It's also very easy to edit. So if you need to change something you remember before filing you can just go back and fix it really quick.

It's savable so you don't have to get it all done now and it does show you how much your expected return is as you go.

I've been using TurboTax for years. It makes everything REALLY easy. The ONLY thing I don't like is that it calculates your return before all the info is entered. I hate starting to enter my W2 info, seeing a huge return (that's not real), and then finishing entering the numbers to see a much smaller number.

Another question for you Military people.

I got paid from January1st till Feburary 14th of 2010. So less than a month and a half.

And I am having a hell of a time even getting access to my pay and getting dicked around by them in everything. Can I just file without my W2 from them?

I was going to use tax slayer this year since turbo tax was charging me $100 to efile but tax slayer was only giving me back $48 on state compared to the $700 turbotax is getting me.

Well I have a couple W2, I dont think they have added them all together yet tho because I entered only one W2, so they arent going to be able to get me proper reuturn figures, thats maybe why my returns still say 0. Because they said they add them all together at the end

I use it every year very happy. For those that are not aware you can go to IRS.GOV and find the free version of several sites to file you taxes if you meet their income requirements.
