seriously, there wasnt really a reason for them to have quit. they were selling the shit outta them and the demand was damn high! ford needs a sportscar to compete with the corvette. i just dont know why they quit making them.

I dont think they where making it as a huge money maker. Just think, they are going to make much more money by selling 400K new explorers than they will selling a very limited production car targeted at the richest of the rich.

It was more of a publicity thing than anything, to get Fords name back on top again. It was definitly not a huge money maker for them compared to their other vehicles

I don't think the Ford GT wasn't a competitor for the Corvette. The Corvette is a higher end car that a white collar worker can afford if they want. The Ford GT is a super car that only the rich afford. I would say the Ford GT and ZR1 could be considered competitors (but not to the Z06).

The Shelby is more of a competitor to the Vette then the GT was even though it has back seats (the shelby)

If we're talking ZR1/3 then that's GT territory though

I think Ford (I've been telling every Ford Exec. that comes to our office this) needs to build an all new car that is like the 'Vette. However something with a slightly lower price to make it more attractive and something faster around the track.

I like the GT; however, they need to do something about the doors. If you pull into a parking spot how are you going to get out if a car pulls too close to the driver's door? I know all of us would never park close to any other cars, but some people are assholes.

i love the GT. if i could have any car in the world, it'd either be a gulf heritage GT or a solid black one or solid white one.

i was really impressed with the GT when it came out. ford really perfected that car IMO.
