Yep, switched to verizon and got me the Droid X. Someone tell me all the good apps and stuff to get. I should be getting it sometime today

Verizon gets the Iphone in like 9 days. My boyfriend has the droid X, its a nice phone but the battery life SUCKS.

yea a phone with so much power will drain battery fast but you can do all kinds of stuff to increase battery life. settign up taskiller for auto kill, screen brightness, turn off the gps unless needed(this is usually the #1 way to save battery life)

x2. It will actually decrease the battery life slightly (I've done months of testing and actually recorded the battery life). While things are running in the background they use up no battery. The only time battery power is use is when they are being used, start up, and shutdown. If you let them sit in the background, they only start up once and use a little battery. If you keep killing them, they keep starting up and shuttingdown. This continues to use battery power.

yea but if you have a dozzen things running in the backround they take up memory which can slow the phone down.

also you set it to ignore all the system apps and apps you want open i.e. gchat, weather shit like that and it will only kill the shit that dont close completely when you exit out of it. none of those apps will restart until you want to use them again hence they dont take up memory keeping the phone running smooth and save battery

With linux it has a check on itself...You early ending applications is causing harm to the OS...

i have never had a problem with task killers. it has always improved battery life and i have never had issues with the os from them.

sooo, ya'll are saying go with the droid x rather then the iphone then? because im fixing to upgrade to a smart phone... and was originally planning on waiting for the iphone to get released on verizon.
