First ticket

Anyone know how bad a exhibition of speed ticket is? I got it for chirping the tires a little when I made a U-turn.

surprised he didn't give it for exhibition of power. That would be more of a power thing than a speed thing unless if you sped up rapidly after words.

that's either 1 or 2 points on your record, can't remember but pretty sure it's only 1. I got it for merging onto a freeway "too fast for traffic conditions" meaning that I punched 2nd gear to about 65 to merge in front of a semi. But that was waaay back when, glad to have a clean slate now.

Sorry to hear that man. I think it cost me 125 bucks or thereabouts for my exhibition ticket. Well be safe n better luck next time I guess

Well I just found out it is a misdemenor in California. THis total screws me in Ca its treated as if I was street racing which I wasn't. This even more screws me becuase I want to be a Cop and am in the process of being hired by the agency that pulled me over for a cadet position.

That sucks, sorry to say this but the more i hear about California, the more i hate it. I will stick with the good ole midwest and the dirty south. LOL.

Yah I usually love CA and I actually am on good terms with a lot of the officers from the agency that gave me the ticket. I am gonna talk to them tomorrow and hire a lawyer to take care of this.

That is the best way to do it. Hell i got a speeding ticket a few months back. 54 in a 35. I went to court and talked to the community service lady...Instead of having to pay over $200, i have to pay $50 and do 15 hours of community service walking dogs. I got half the work done and i am paying the fee friday...just try to do what you can do.

I honestly could not care about the fine, all i want is it to not be a misdemeanor thats really bad for my record.

That is what i am saying. Instead of paying a huge fine and getting a misdemeanor, i did community service and it isnt on my record. Well, at least i dont think so.

misdemeanors only affect the job if your searching for a federal job. If your planning on hitting the city or county for a job for police work, you won't be affected....unless there's another person applying that doesn't have a misdemeaner. Police agencies are always looking for deputies, so you should be good. Keyword: should...as California is different with EVERYTHING.
