This is sad...

Ford has stated it wants noone using for domains, businesses, or organizations, any trademarked names such as; Ford, Mustang, Thunderbird, or use of any trademarked logos.

This is what happens when you put a paper pushing asshole behind the desk that has no relation or association to the company to make all the numbers balance out. I bet you that the guy who initiated this shit has never even rode in a farking Mustang!

ok. good fucking job ford. now everyone who used to be a fan of your product(s) will now more or less likely go somewhere else. ( not the hardcores though ) ...

sure, waste your time getting a 10k check, versus designing the best car out there and selling the product.

ford has made the worst damn decision it could: turning on those who support them ... ford is an idiot.

Budget balancing is to blame, but I will keep my business in America and undoubtedly with FoMoCo. Ford has no problem selling the Mustangs, but what about Southern Methodist University? The SMU Mustangs owned the Mustang logo (mirror-imaged) before Lee Iacocca stole it from them but mirrored the image:

I doubt anything would ever happen, but if something did it would be best we were on an old domain (for search engine authority). Besides...

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords
Mustang.org (Mustang Club of America)

etc. and alot of other authority Mustang websites would have to be taken down too (and probably first). Image doing a search on the web and not finding the word Mustang in any of the domain names. I can't imagine that, besides this has been going on since at least the mid 90's (Ford suing companies using their name), so I don't expect anytime soon, or ever, of anything like this happeing... but once again you never know.

You know, it's ironic considering the Mustang logo (running horse) was stolen from (I think) a school and flipped around backwards...

At any rate, for now, there would be other enthusiast sites ahead of us on the chopping block first...

Yeah, Southern Methodist University- where Lee Iacoca and top Mustang and Ford executives went...

Of course, we would be low on the list for a few years at least. But better safe than sorry...

They are not going after websites......as long is you don't profit from the name. They are going after businesses that use copyrighted Ford names to attract business. As wrong is it may sound, it is very common. It just strikes a nerve because its our lord Ford doing it this time. This very same thing happens every day with other businesses/people.
