Yep, I'm officially out for this season unless by some stroke of luck I find a wealthy individual that has nothing better to spend his/her money on than me. I pulled the motor last night and disassembled everything today to get it ready to head off to Charlie at The Race Shop. 5 valves hit pistons, 2 valves are bent for sure and possibly 3. The heads are cracked severely between the valves and minor cracking across the spark plug area. 1 cylinder had a bunch of oil in it and another had a bunch of coolant in it. The way the car ran you would have never known it. I'd post pictures but I'm too pissed off to even look at it right now. Probably not that big of a deal, but after spending more than $8000 on this car already this year it is a very big deal. What gets me is how the car went as fast as it did with the engine in this rough of shape. I guess that explains why I couldn't get a whole lot of mile an hour out of it. People running similar ETs are going a few mph faster than I was. Maybe its time for a Chevy engine.....

Are you sure a GM product would have held up better given all the same circumstances??
My car broke in May, started the build in June and got it back at the end of September.. I broke it so I fixed it,Better!!! but it is a vert and was gone the whole freaking summer...I really do feel your pain... good luck in whatever you choose to do with it

Dont gow itha GM engine. will more then likely overheat. GM engines suck....and My mom ouns a 2004 Saturn Vue...but GM put a honda engine in it.
