So much for honda reliability...

Got to tow an S2000 today. My buddy Josh bought it 2 days ago, went to drift a corner, and all of a sudden it made this HORRIBLE grinding noise...

We think he blew up the rear diff, but not sure yet...car goes into all the gears just fine, but as soon as you try to get it going, it makes a massive grinding noise and won't move.

I tried to look under the car to see if he had popped an axle out or something, but as is usual with the Honda world, the damn car is so low to the ground you can't even fit a pack of cigarettes under it, let alone look at anything.

Stupid Hondas...hahaha. I'd much rather have my Mustang, I tear it up constantly, drifting and doing donuts and all manner of wear and tear...and nothings broken after 140k miles.

But yeah if anyone knows anything about S2K's, and has an idea what could be the matter, lemme know, gonna try to help him out.

Thread title is misleading. Anything will break with enough abuse.

doesn't impact the reliability of Honda as a whole. All vehicles have a weakness.

Can't they just beef then up or swap them? I've seen numerous ls motors in them so I assume they have to be running a different rear.

Lmao I did, soon as he called me saying he broke his car and needed help, I was like "Hmm dude you know what car's don't break...Yup. Mustangs. "

I really don't get how so many people have the idea that Hondas are so reliable and bulletproof...I've owned two Mustangs and a Mountaineer and absolutley thrashed them, shifting at 6k, missed 4th and grabbed second a time or two, drove my old Mustang off road up a mountain to go camping, and they still wouldn't quit.

This guy's S2K has like 12k miles on it, drifts it once, and it breaks down.

LOL That little S2000 will put a DAMN good fight up against a New Edge GT. They're peppy little cars and a blast to drive. Unlike a New Edge, they CAN take turns without feelikg like it's going to tip over...

I've driven them before and other than fitment (I'm 6'7") they were an absolute blast to drive.
