It was announced on the radio this morning that this summer gas
prices are expected to exceed $4.00 per gallon.

Don't pump gas on MAY 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in
protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all Internet users are to not go to a gas station
in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most
places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Internet
network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill
up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil
companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on
May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry
for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all
your contact list. With it saying, ‘‘don’t pump gas on May 15th"

Yeah this is a pretty much idiotic idea, it's not going to send any kind of message to anyone. All it will do is inconvenience people who actively try to avoid getting gas on that day.

they jus charge w/e cuz they hav a monopoly on the oil company

besides, ull hurt the local gas stations more than the companies, cuz most of that $2.3bil goes into the pockets of workers who work at refineries, barrel the stuff, ship it to the gas station, and the people who actually sell it

We have plenty of Oil, but if they cause a scare they make money hence global warming, they charge more we use less, BS they just want more money propaganda works, yet there is no actual proof of the global warming epidemic we are in, gas will even itself out like everything else us just not paying one day will not change anything, now if no one bought from a month it might works but that is impossible.

Did you know they are thinking about passing similar laws in Seattle as in Paris ? about having fees for those who drive in the city? To keep smog levels lower and to promote foot/bike/bus traffic. It's almost a good idea

When I got my first car, I want to say 6 years ago, I think I was paying 1.25/gallon here. So doing the math, gas has gone up 150% each year thereafter. If that trend continues... I better get a second job, lol.

ever here of the year w/o a summer? in new york, the river froze over and ppl cud walk from the island to the mainland across it.. i think it was the middle of july too
