theres different kinds of rap, its not all the same. its actually kinda complex if u think about it..

u got the ez rappers.. the gay ones basically.. these guys make the songs that everyone walks around singing. ppl like them cuz the lyrics are simple and slow and easy to remember.. these are the type of ppl to make one cd and disapear forever (every single rapper in dipset falls under this style, btw)

u got the beat bangers.. generally the same as the ez rappers, tho some dont rap at all, they jus repeat the same thing over and over again.. "GET IT CRUNK BITCHES, GET IT CRUNK BITCHES!!" they suck too, mostly southern rappers.. again 1 CD and

u got the 'life' rappers.. the ppl who talk about politics and such, boring if u ask me.. their usually talented but no1 wants to listen to politicians rap lol, tho 2-pacs early days were made up of this style so their not all bad

u got the gangstas.. yes i kno, its obvious but u gotta mention them.. these are the ppl who talk about hood life and gettin shot and all that shit.. not ALL of them are bad, but about 95-99% of these guys suck so bad its not even funny..

u got the complex flows, i like to call them the ill rappers. these guys put thought into how they put their raps together and generally dont do as well at first as the ez rappers, cuz it takes longer to memorize or even to understand sometimes lol these wud be the guys u can listen to all the time..

u got ur laid back rappers too, these are usually older rappers who jus dont give a hoot about record sales anymore.. they jus rap about chillin and bein wit ur girl or w/e the hell is on their mind.. sometimes they jus outright freestyle half the album lol (Eminem Encore!!)

of course, rappers can be combinations of the above and there is much more to like about it.. i guess u jus gotta find the style u like (and hav freinds that like it)

I have already stated that the Beastie Boys are one of the first groups that helped to start Hip Hop, but they are different from every other group out there. NOBODY has the humor in their lyrics, NOBODY can rhyme like they can...I guess i just have a few rappers, very few hip hop artists that i root for...I will give you a run down of who i like, EXCLUDING rock since this is a hip hop/ rap discussion

My opinion is close to that...Hip hop is closely related to rap, just more mainstream. You can have a 13 year old girl listen to hip hop and like it and fall in love with the artist. I dont see many 13 year old girls liking Easy E or going around singing lyrics of that nature!

I just cannot stand to put people like JR and Cam in the same category as Bow Wow, T.I., Lil Jon, and other hip hop stars...There is a big difference in their style and how they do things.
