Re: survey: your first car?

* what was the make and model of your first vehicle?
Ford Aspire

* how did you aquire it?
Bought it from a friend's dad for $1

* why did you decide that it was the car/truck for you?
Didn't, it was a cheap, impulsive buy.

* how long did you own it?
Few months

* any particularly powerful memories (good or bad) tied to the vehicle in question?
It was raining, I took a turn at what I was sure was safe speed, brakes locked up, I hit a curb

* did it have any mods?
It already came with a cracked exhaust manifold.

* what ever happened to it?
Sold it to my old neighbor for $5, he fixed it, and not sure what happened next.

* post pic(s) of the vehicle or similar if availible.
http://www.iit.edu/~matleri/aspire.jpg

I had a joke with my parents that I needed a new car that was safer(Mustang). I had liked mustangs for a long time, and now was my chance. I shopped around for a while, wasn't expecting to get a GT, but found a great deal on mine. I paid half, my parents paid half. It was my birthday/christmas present.

Re: survey: your first car?

* what was the make and model of your first vehicle?
1965 Mustang

* how did you aquire it?
Given to me by my parents. It was in rough shape. Me and my dad restored it together. He bought the car, I bought the parts. I think I got the short end of the stick....

* why did you decide that it was the car/truck for you?
At the time it was my favorite car and still is one of my favorites to this day.

* how long did you own it?
13 years

* any particularly powerful memories (good or bad) tied to the vehicle in question?
I did alot of street racing in that car. Lots of good memories.

* did it have any mods?
By the time I was 17 it had 351W, Dart heads, .608 lift roller cam, Victor Jr intake, 750 Holley, 9" rear end, Mickey Thompson tires, etc. The list goes on and on.

* what ever happened to it?
I cut the car up and built an outlaw car out of it. I sold it in 2004 as a rolling chassis.

* post pic(s) of the vehicle or similar if availible.

* what was the make and model of your first vehicle? 1970 Ford Maverick

* how did you aquire it? Purchased from a friend for $130.00

* why did you decide that it was the car/truck for you? It was a steal and very good car to work on

* how long did you own it? Nearly 2 years

* any particularly powerful memories (good or bad) tied to the vehicle in question? Drag racing against an 85 Mercury Capri V6 and spanking him with only 1st and 3rd gear (2nd was fried) and the accident listed below.

* did it have any mods? No mods but I did rebuild the carbeurator in under 30 minutes after I bought it!

* what ever happened to it? Right front wheel cylinder locked up the wheel while braking, spun me around 180 Degrees into 2 poles, a light pole and a telephone pole, which bounced me off and spun another 180. Didn't total the car but I sold it to salvage when I enlisted.

My first car was a 1974 Torino.

It started life as a Department of Transportation car. My parents got it at a state auction and gave it to me for my first car. The car came with a 351w 2v and a FMX transmission. That was later replaced with a 429 4v and a C6 with a shift kit.
