ya i know its high mileage, but i want a v8, and the insurance isnt too bad on it. the car payment would be alot cheaper. im gonna go check it out tomorow, and wanted your opinions first.

personally if its a firebird I would go for a ws6, and if it's a camaro I would go for a z28 or ss.

well a z28 or ss of the same year def could, but just the v8 they put in em...i think so because the gt motors in 97 weren't that great.

the lt1's still run good against a 4.6 PI mustang. not sure about the s197's. the formula is basically pontiacs rendition of the mustang gts. its not a bad car but its a sports car and more than likely been ragged out. for a few thousand more you could get an ls1 with less miles.

My concern might be the previous owner and his driving habits.

We all know how much fun it is to get into our cars' horse power and just from looking at it, you can't tell if it's been beat or babied.

Personally, I'm a bit skeptical buying a hotrod from a dealer. If you know the true history of the car, that's one thing but if not, you never know what you might be buying. It could be an oil burner in 30 days.

its only a few hundred for new cap and rotor for the optispark. but ive never installed nor taken one out so it might be a bitch and your probably including the price of install, if i had problems with it id change it myself. not that big of a deal. just put a new one in.

Speaking of new cars, why are 99 V6s with more mileage more expensive than 01+ V6s? I was wandering around Autotrader last night. They had a 99 V6 with 115k miles on it for 9,890 and an 01 V6 with 40k for 8700.

Dealers gettin greedy or what?

99 has the hood scoop and some other shit. looks nicer. but 04 is the best of all the new edge v6's. larger better looking wheels and reverse hood. with a 3.9L engine.
