it got me thinking.. wut if all of us, all the ford forums, got together and signed a petition or some kind of thread and sent it to ford

and kept sending it

and kept sending it.. and every time we send it we keep adding signatures

and we cud do this in conjuction wit other mustang/focus/ford sites

well, wut yall think? it wud be hard, and it prolly wudnt work.. but if someone actually organized this i think it might hav some kind of impact..



so the point of this thread is to generate ideas on;

1. wut we wud ask for
2. how we wud organize it with other sites
3. how can we get thousands of loyal ford fans to beg the company to keep itself alive

like i said, tough, but in 1986 thats wut ppl did to keep the mustang alive, if no1 did anything we'd all be talkin about probes right now, wit every mustang jus bein a classic or 'the before car'

The lead designer is the one that put the death stamp on the Probe getting the Mustang name. Didn't have a whole lot to do with the end user.

But whatever. I believe it was the customer letters that had an influence on ford not cancelling the Mustang altogether prior to the Fox being introduced. But I guess you know better than Ford execs and designers on board at the time.

basically in their thread they talked about how ford killed everything that wuda kept it alive

for instance, right when the whole sport tuner thing hit, they killed the probe.. the only thing they had in that area

the mustang hasnt had any new ideas since 1979 (face it, the sn-95 IS a fox, and the s-197 is jus.. u kno)

they even killed the RWD/AWD minivan for no reason, replacing it with wut they got out now

i say we get a big ol' letter or petition or SOMETHING together wit all the other sites, im sure they wont hav a problem collaborating on it, and ask them for these things

the probe
a non-nostalgia based thunderbird
a real NEW mustang
SHO taurus
maybe a new car, something with RWD designed more for the street tuner class, like the supra or skyline, but an american version
more options for the mustang, probe, hell, any car out..
and better parts from fordracingparts.com lol

Ford does what makes them money, period. you remember the ford tempo? same 2.3 as the fox in it. they were a tank i put mine up to 700 000k (kilometers) before i retried it. why? because you could see the road while you drove when you looked down. they thing still ran till the day i retired it after taking it out to a feild and took it off jumps and beat the piss out of it.... ended up bending the shit out of the unibody kinda collapsed cuz of metal fatigue so we had to drag it home with to quads. they stopped producing the tempo in 1994... why? because the bastard would not break down. i never did any major repairs on it nothing just breaks a few break lines and the regular oil changes and tuneups. and the odd muffler. thats the only reason ford stops production when they start loosing profit because of quality. there is a fine line between quality and profit for them and they like to stay on the fence.

EDIT: BTW if the probe took the mustang name i would have puked in a ziplock bag and mailed it to ford my self.... fuck that id deliver it.

its about reaching out to the company and getting them to put out some performance models ppl actually get excited about

name one car that ford has that doesnt make u wanna go to sleep jus hearing it.. (that is affordable to the average person)
