Monte Carlo SS

My dad got a deal and picked up a 2000 Monte Carlo SS.......V6. Was I the only one that wasnt aware that they made a V6 SS? What makes a V6 Monte an SS?

Its an interior/exterior package only.

Once upon a time, SS used to mean something, same as RS or GT or LX or Type-whatever. Now, for the most part, its just interior packages.

I believe that because the interior is really cool. Leather, sunroof,mini-bar, CD, mini-bar, power everything, mini-bar, some other stuff. All that EXCEPT the mini-bar.

i think the ss's are also supercharged to or thats what ive heard from a friend that has one

None of them are, take it from someone who was 16 when these cars were in production. That bodystyle was boosted only in Buick trim, the Grand National and T-type cars that had a 231 V-6. Monte Carlo SS cars had a souped up 305. It was a very cool car in it's time. And to someone who lived it they are still a very desirable car. Especially the '87. My brother had one. I don't know what your dad has, but if it's blown it ain't stock. If it's V-6 it ain't stock either. SS Monte's were/are carbed 305 cars.

i saw at a dealership a new one and it had a 303 HP engine in it.

Dude, it is a 2000. it is not carbed, and it does not have a 305.

if it says...SS supercharged down the passenger side by the back rear wheel then its supercharged... if it only says SS i think its n/a... correct me if im wrong... cause im not 100% sure on this

i believe your correct on that one, the monte's expecially 00+ all advertised on the side if they were supercharged, unless the previous owner was trying to make it a sleeper, it would say supercharged on the side if it came from the factory like that.
