Man I hate interviews

It's like the job is so damn easy, but when they ask a specific question, my words get jumbled and I sound like an ass trying to avoid the question. I sound like a blithering idiot. Maybe I need to take some downers before I show up

IP cameras and file servers are so easy, but trying to explain to someone how my knowledge applies to them gets me clusterfucked in the head.

Same here too.

Skip the questions. Just give me some broken equipment and let me figure out what's wrong with it. Let that be the interview.

I hate people asking me questions... I can do the job with ease but when you ask me to explain something I go into tard mode...

Practice in your head beforehand. Learn about the company if you can, and ask HIM questions as part of the process. Breathe. Make the conscious thought before you sit down that "This man takes his pants down to shit just like I do." Maintain eye contact. Don't be afraid to pause for a second as you form a response in your head. Avoid self deprecation. Don't be afraid to state "I'm nervous- I'm excited about this opportunity."

Then act like I would.

But seriously. Do the first parts

I'm the exact opposite, I can think on the fly and I have zero fear of public speaking. Being a car salesman before really helped, but I already had the gift for it before that.

If I get an interview I already know for fact that I have the job because I am confident, fearless in a speaking setting, and have had a bit of training at it (my mother is a career coordinator, she trained me many years ago at exactly what employers want to hear in an interview).

If you have questions about what to expect in an interview please PM me with exactly what you're applying for and brief summary of your prior experience, I will be more than happy to help. Just remember the three golden rules: confidence, confidence, and more confidence in yourself and your answers. No employer wants to hire a sissy, you need to walk in there like you already own the place, don't act arrogant but have a little swagger and be thinking in your mind that you are the shit and this guy has already hired you and this interview is just a formality. Sit down, speak all of your answers clearly and with confidence, make the manager believe you are the type that can lead people and will always show up to work on time, make him believe you are strong, make him believe you you can get the job done, make him believe that no matter what he throws your way you will do it in a manner that is both timely and efficient, make him believe that other people listen to you when speak, if you can do that you can get a job.

I'm the type that is a natural speaker and a leader, when I speak my co-workers listen. When I come to them and ask (never demand) "Hey guys, do you think we can all work together and get this done faster?" they listen and help me. They don't obey me, they listen when I ask for help. If you're a supervisor or someone that people listen to that is important: when you bark orders like you're better than them it turns people off, when you ask people to help and then work alongside them as if their responsibilities are important as your own they will listen. Leading people is difficult and it is a fine line to walk, just remember to treat everyone fairly and work alongside them to show them that everything they do is important to the finished product nd they will respect you for it.

Ok rain man slow down your thoughts, what may seem like forever in your head is just a moment in life. I used to interview people and alot of them would not take the time to sit back and collect them selves so they would sound stupid. Always think before you speak and dont be afraid to pause. I know when i held interviews it was mostly based off of first impressions cause any monkey and do an easy job, its if i want to deal with them for 6-8 hours a day.

Best advice I can give you is take your time answering questions. This also gives them time to clean up any notes they scribbled down while you answered the last question. They won't mind a bit if you take 10-15 seconds to collect your thoughts before you answer. Also it helps to have stuff written down to refer to. My interview portfolio has a page of notes for different kinds of situations: dealing with adversity, working with a team, leadership, time management, organization, etc. Then when I get a question about a particular subject I can flip to that page and be able to pick from well thought out situations rather than having to scramble for something random

The last interview I had, I was all confident, went in all smiles, super polite, started answering their questions, and he said "you are a licensed hair stylist but you dont do that for a living? " and I said " No, I do it for friends and family but its just not something I truly enjoyed doing" and he said "wHY??? what happened to you?? something happened didnt it?? what was it??" and he WOULD NOT get off of that subject no matter how many times I tried to go in a different direction.

Because it separates the even slightly intelligent from those that are stupid enough to be considered dumber than monkeys. Believe me, I once worked a job that had so such test. Never again.
