i also have a solar charger for usb items....not very strong but i can use it on my smart phone if needed and as long as the phone companies don't go down it'll help me keep up to date with stuff at least until they shut me off at the end of the month for not paying lol

plus socks go in ziplock bags to keep dry...wet socks can lead to foot rot during hiking
