First off, im not suicidal at all, just saying that now. But lately life in general has just been sucking major dick. Besides when im looking at mustang parts, or working/cleaning it, and the weekends when i am with my buddies, im not enjoying my life at all. I could deal with it just being the week and having to work, but my shop is crap, and im constantly dealing with unneeded BS. And when i get off, i just hang in my room. Ive been tryin to talk/hang with more people, most ladies, but not being 21, with literally nothing around here, i cant find anyone to so much as flirt with. And now its Sunday and im watching movies on netflix, dreading waking up at 415 to workout before i go to the shop. I dont know why im even posting, i think just to get it off my chest. I dont know what to do, just trying to get to the next weekend i suppose.

Dude it can be worse. I got group PT at 0600 and the guy leading it is a dumb fuck and makes exercises off the top of his head because they are more "efficient" and then he doesn't even do it with us. AND HE IS A CHUBBER

Sounds like you are stuck in a rut. Are you in College? I'm 20 and sort of was in a rut, and on Monday I'm going to look at ECPI University to get myself back in school.

I find the best way to get out of a rut is to just be productive and try not to get down, as hard as it may be, because from what I've seen, sadness just perpetuates itself.

And it could ALWAYS be worse. Sometimes when I think I am doing poorly I'll think about how it COULD be. I could be one of those kids who just free-loads, doesn't live in his own home, has no car, no nothing. Just those drifters, I suppose would be the word.

+1. This is amazing advice. And it doesn't even have to be a purposeful, 'went out with this intent', selfless deed. Watch for opportunities to do good things, and when you can, do them.

I've paid for people's gas when they ran out of money... their groceries... I shoot people here money sometimes... to name a few things... and believe me- I'm far from flush. But I do it when I can, because many have helped me over the years.

It's not about thinking you're this fantastic vision of altruistic perfection... it just makes you feel good to do the right thing... and when things are going shit, you can sit there with a beer in your hand and feel good, knowing that no matter how fucked things are, you're a good guy.

It's partly what separates a true asshole from someone why may be acting like an asshole in a moment of anger or frustration.

Ask Dennis. Sometimes he hates me, and vice-versa- but I know why he's truly a good soul, and I think he feels the same. I won't say why, but he knows why.

You're under 21, you have a 06 GT and a job. That's a hell of a lot better situation than a lot of unemployed people in this country.

I've seen people call this 1st world problems before. Your job may suck, but you don't have to be worried about having AIDS since birth, starving to death, having an oppressive government that could decide they wanted to kill you, or any other number of REALLY sucky thing.





Just remind yourself that sometimes our problems aren't really "problems" when it comes to the big picture. I do this whenever I get stressed or fed up with something and it really helps me
