Good portable AC unit for the garage for cheap (Got a "Cease Working on Car Notice")

So I live in deed restricted community and today I got a letter that says "Cease working on cars - may not work on cars even in garage - nussance."

First of all, this guy can't even spell right. Nuisance is right. Second of all, really? How can you tell me not to work on my car in MY garage?

So I read the rules and they say "Car repairs may not be done on property, except in the case of a antifreeze or oil leak."

Now I'd close the garage, but it's Florida and it gets HOT. Sounds like everytime I am working on my car in the garage, I am trying to fix an oil leak **KNOCK ON WOOD**

do you have a window in the garage? if so get a window AC. if you don't, rout one of your air vents into the garage and use the house AC.

Is it a HOA that's giving you the "order"? If so, I would ignore them.

The other option is if car repairs cannot be done on your property, take it off your property. Take it to the road and work there where it's public property.

My parents rent the home we're living in now (it's "rent to own" or whatever) and in our lease agreement it says we're not allowed to do anything beyond oil changes and basic maintenance on our cars on the property (and we're not allowed to have non-running vehicles parked outside the garage). I haven't gotten a notice yet and my neighbors occasionally stop to see what I'm up to since my engine is laying around in pieces

What this basically means is that you must walk outside right now and begin working on your car

I would do one of two things (most likely the first). One, ignore them and move on with life. Two, go to the next HOA meeting and talk to the board members. Explain your situation and how if you cannot do it on your property, then you're forced to do it on the side of the road which is public property. Then explain that doing the work in your garage is going to make the neighborhood look much better than having a car torn apart on the side of the road. But you'll also have to look up the policy on having vehicles on the side of the road.

Well from now on I guess I just need to work my nuisance work from the garage into the driveway. Why get my garage dirty when I can do it outside? Maybe I'll tape the notices to the wall inside my garage. Get this at the bottom it says ""Failure to make corrective action within the time frame specified may be cause for the Association to enter and correct the violation at your expense."

Please, come into my garage, or my house for that case. I live in Florida, the gunshine state.

God I hate HOA's.

Which model do you have? Want to make sure I get a good one. Do you need airflow in the garage IE from an outside source, or does it circulate the air inside the garage?

What time frame was given? Does correct the violation mean they're going to fix your car for you?

For an A/C to work, you MUST have a heat sink outside of the conditioned area. Somehow there must be an A/C exhaust (or A/C lines) that runs outside the garage.
