Welding


I got a 2000 Nissa Xterra that has a cracked exhast manifold. I got the heat sheild off and i want to know if i can weld the crack while it is still on the car? Thanks

Thanks, I think I have 3 cracks. Lets hope I can weld them. I have cast iron rods and have welded cast before, but I am not good at welding cast.

just take it slow and do your little half moons and I am sure you'll be fine man.

i asked a shop about it when mine was cracked, he said it is possible but he had heard horror stories about it

mine cracked and im just going to take it to get welded, i wont have the car for too terribly long. so im not worried about it

I really looked at it and I don't think I can weld it. I foung 4 cracks and I think 1 of them cracked it in two. I am going to take it off and look at it and I think I am going to buy a new one.

I think a new one is for the best on this one, but Its a V6 Nissan Xtterra. I am selling her and don't care about performance. I will take a pic of it. Its bad. I drove the car to work maybe 15 miles one way. I didn't care about a leak, but then it got really bad and I am selling the car, so I have to fix it now.

Its a good car, but I don't really like selling cars to people I know. I am looking to get $6,500 for her. Saying that, I am not selling her on here.
