See it's funny when you ask these questions because you're going to get people who had completely different experiences. I had Verizon before AT&T and the service was worse here and they pulled some shady shit on me and kept trying to charge me small amounts over my actual bill. Wonder how many people they do that to who have no idea. That's when I switched after calling CS and making them fix it a number of times.

I would ask local people...

Me personally I like verizon...I have verizon for internet, home phone, fios, and cell phone...Never had an issue with them...Wife has the IP4 and I have the droid x...

And phones not made for the verizon network wont work on it...They dont allow porting from other carriers even if they could...

we just recently switched from tmo to verizon. and while i love the faster speed and better selection in phones i do get quite a few data signal drops.

Holy responses. I will ask a couple people in my area about the signal with verizon. I have 0 experience with them at all so I am still not sure. I might however try that "magic trick" by telling At&t that I am considering the switch lol.

I'd switch to Sprint if you want 4G.... It's way to easy to hit your 2GB cap with 4G on Verizon. If you use your phone to tether like it do it takes no time at all. I am still "grandfathered" into unlimited with verizon because I'm still on my old Verizon 3G contract. If I get a new phone in the near future it will be with Sprint. I also want a Galaxy S2 phone pretty bad.

Verizon has great service. I've only be dropped a few times and that was mostly my fault or somewhere no cell is going to get service. Also, I have had very few problems with my bill. But the 2GB limit is a deal breaker for me.

You can wait for a month or two, maybe three and make a selection from Verizon's likely release of a new wave of 4g lte smartphones. Here is one I have my eye on (The reason being that it is supposed to be the updated version of my Thunderbolt): Another alleged HTC Vigor leak: HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core, Beats Audio (update: more pics) -- Engadget There are many articles and speculations on this phone, and I'm hoping what people are saying about it is true, it sounds sweet. (I couldn't care less about the new iPhone...)

Also, I am not on a data limit, I'm still unlimited (grandfather'd) and although I know you won't be... its not that bad unless your life is on your phone. I have also never dropped any calls with Verizon, ever.
