ok so i was wondering if they really will work or not, i have no clue about the differance between like k band or x or radar or laser...etc., so if some1 could please like explain the differences between the types also would this be a good one to buy? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138085846921
and how do u install them or watever, like could i do it myself or no
also i have been looking at some and i dont have the 500 dollars to spend on them so my limit for one would probally be around 150

very simple instal.. put on your window and plug into cigarette lighter. as fr the different bands, get one that has the most listed lol. yes they work but they arennt fool proof. they have saved my ass many times. but it shouldnt give you a reason to go 1000 mph. i have a cobra one in my truck it cost like 100 bux and works pretty good. the next one i buy will be one of those $500 ones like a valentine or something along those lines

is there really a difference between like the 100 dollar ones and the 500 or is it just cause its name brand, i know that its not like a full proof thing to not get me a ticket, also how much would a ticket for that be because if i got pulled over and the cop was a a-hole i would be screwed, speeding ticket, window tint ticket, and radar
i was just wondering if that would actually be worth the 100 or would i just be buying a piece or plastic

it lets you know when a radar is being used. it doesnt save yo if your the only one out on the road and he hits you. by the time it tells you hes there, your allready hit, but if your on a hgihway wiht a bunch of cars, the radar will bounce around to toehr cars and your radar will pick it up and let you know that there is something ahaead or atleast a radar around you

Here in FL one FHP sits in the middle of the highway with their hood up just enought so you don't think it's a patrol car. You zoom past him and he get's you from the rear as your flying away. The ticket car chases you down. It beats the radar dectors, sneaky bustards!

Why the hell do you even need one? Just drive the speed limit or relativly close, and the cops dont care about anything! Anyway if you are doing 90 down a 65 in traffic then you deserve a ticket! And again they arent going to do much for you unless you are in traffic!

Yes there is a difference. valentine Ones are upgradable, they'll detect laser, X, K and Ka bands. They will also tell you where the detection is coming from (the right, left, front, or rear of your car)

Expensive, but one save from a ticket of 20+ over and it's paid for.

We're talking about detectors, not jammers. I'm sure that Jammers are illegal in all 50 states.

Detectors do just that - detect the signal. Whether or not it saves your ass is really up to you.

If you don't do 58093897 mph in a 35 zone, you're fine. If the cop is driving around with it on you'll be able to pick it up 1/2 to 1 mile away and slow down accordingly. If you're doing 58093897 mph and he pops it on as you pass him - you're pretty much fucked, and you'll know it when your detector starts screaming at you.

ive always had a radar detector. and no they arent fool proof, will they save you from a ticket , well that depends on variables, are they worth having certainly. they can be annoying when driving around town. some security systems and other radar detectors can falsely set them off. But I wouldnt take mine out for nothing. it has saved my ass more than once. I wish I had a jammer but I think those run around a grand dont they?

top of the line detectors like the valentine or 8500x50 etc are gonna be in the neighborhood of 3-400 dollars

laser jammers are gonna be around 500 for two module (small autos/front placement) or 800 for four module (large autos ie suvs/front and back placement)

well i went and bought the one that i posted on top at best buy and decided to go crusing with my friends like 2 hrs after i bought it, it saved my a** once already, some cocky kid in some kind of bmw pulled up to me and started reving n crap so i went and we were right next to each other the whole time and we hit 70 so i started to slow down but he kept accelerating, so im sloweddown to like 60 when all the sudden the radar detector starts going crazy so i slow down back to 40 and after i finish going up the hill and start going down it i see the cop , he doesnt even try to slow down or anything just goes past the cop and decides to just stop b4 the cop even pulls out lol, he had to be going at least 80-90 in a 40, he lost his liscense most likely
