Playing BF3 right now...

Those of you who have pre-installed BF3 are able to log in and play the single player campaign...how come nobody told me this sooner. Its been interesting so far... Running onto a moving train, getting shot and nearly falling off the edge.

Then I alt+tabbed out to check email and my computer crashed. Nice. lol

Sorry I was playing WoW....guess I'll go back to it since I'm uninterest in BF3.

I haven't bought/rented a game in a few years lol. Games just don't interest me anymore but Battlefield 3 is one game I actually wanted..is it worth it to buy this game?

Its one of the FEW games I've waited years for, if that means anything to you. I hated 2142, though I bought it. I hated BC2, and stopped playing it within days of buying it.

I LOVED and MISSED BF2 and everything about it. BF3 is BF2, added to make use of modern technology and innovative new game architecture, and so far, just in the single player alone, on medium graphics, the game looks and feels amazing.

Unfortunately, my 260GTX isn't playing nice and appears to be overheating/shutting off while playing on my 55" plasma. Looks like I'll need to upgrade or fix my GPU issue before I can really dig into the game.

Thinkin of buying it after work...gotta dust the ol 360...now i have a D7900 Samsung 55" tv so this game should be god-like on this thing.

It should be at my doorstep right now. But like a normal person, I have to be at work and won't be home until 5 tonight. I'll get home, make some dinner, eat some dinner, and then hope that the servers haven't crashed. Hopefully it's better than the beta.

Played it some more this morning before going to work, and its nothing like the beta. The game is polished and perfected as far as I can tell. Zero lag (well, I had 50MS latency on the server I was connected to), the game was smooth as butter...Completely awesome.

Don't think I've yet to connect to any servers with any sort of issue come to think of it.

The last game that I was absolutely addicted to was medal of honor:European assault. I played the shit outta that game. I Wana get it again..

Yours is crashing? I think I solved my issue, though I'm at work and can't test it yet. My PSU is most likely dying. So its completely non-related to BF3 (It did this in games prior to BF3)

I'll give EA credit, they tried to keep there servers up and have them prepared. But ultimately I guess it was inevitable, they crashed. Hopefully they'll be back up tomorrow.

Don't blame EA. What are you playing on? PS3 or Xbox?

PC is working fine, and BF3 was intended for PC after all..Its the platform that started the BF series.

Therefore, blame your network lol

On 360 and I will blame EA. Yes, it was designed for PC but EA adapted it for consoles. It's not my network problem either. When me and 4 other guys from across the globe (Indiana (2x), Kansas, Texas, and Korea) all get "Failed to connect to EA servers" error, it means EA servers have crashed.

They knew in advance what was coming but still didn't get their servers properly configured to handle the huge spike in traffic. EA is responsible for both the PC and console servers, so it's their fault.

People get so up tight about defending anything negative about anything they like. I loved BC2 and played the shit out of it. For the little bit I got to play of BF3, I liked the 2 new maps I played. But I'm more than willing to critique and complain where it's due. It doesn't mean I like the game less. I just wish EA would have their shit together for a release they KNOW is going to be huge on PC AND console.

Before the game was even released they announced that the servers would likely go down. REALLY?!? Admitting defeat before the game is even out.

Sigh... I hear this argument all the time "They suck, their servers can't handle it!"

Tech standpoint: You will NEVER have the capacity to handle a new release as popular as a title like BF3 with 100% flawless victory. No matter what company, what title, or what genre (PC, Console, ect), you can almost never prepare for a fault free launch. There are just to many factors.

Plus, 9 times out of 10, release day has so many people that whatever server system you have just can't connect that many people. Its basic hardware.

Example, when WoW releases a new title the server queue lines are a fact of life. Sure, I bet you Blizzard upgrades some parts of their servers to help delay the inevitable. However, at the end of the day, you just can't prepare for every single person to log on around the same time (3pm onward).

Now, I am sure there are ways, but as a company EA has to manage cost. They can't go buy 500 of the BEST servers in the world for one game title release.

Its one sided for users to complain that a company did not do enough. You think they sat on their behinds and said "Oh well, they will get over it while we swim in our revenue"? I am sure they did what they could financialy, time wise, and hardware wise, to help the inevitable.

Also, I commend EA for letting users know ahead of time that there will most likely be outages instead of making false claims and promises.

It's still on EA's end of the loop. I know PC still plays great, that's what I've been playing. But I still like my FPS games on console and hope they have their shit back together when I get off work today.

When playing BC2, they had server issues for the past few months. Now they continue to have server issues w/ BF3. I'm not saying I don't expect issues to happen. But when you have the money that EA has, I would expect server issues to be fixed quickely. This isn't just for BF3, BC2 has had server issues (admitted by EA) for months.

When this forum had server issues, people bitched about it and rightfully so. It was an issue and people felt it wasn't being addressed. People aren't saying the forum is crap or worth less. Just expressing their dislike for how crappy the servers are. It's the same thing w/ EA and their shitty servers. They need to get their shit together b/c this isn't something new, it's been going on for months.
