So my first two cars were v6 mustangs and i love them more than anything....almost anything that is. for the past few months i've been wanting to sell my 1996 v6. well i was at my uncles in alabama this weekend and finally got to drive his 1994 indy 500 pace car cobra. its one of 1000 made, 600 left, and 1 of 50 driven on the track to introduce drivers in the 94 indy 500. my dad and i took turns driving it and my dad wanted it as bad as i did. he's asking 13 and will give it to my dad for 10, so i told my parents i wanted to sell mine and what ever the difference is after mine is sold, ill pay. so i'm paying them $85 a month ($1k a year) until its payed off, which will depend on how much i get from my car. i'm so happy to be gettin a v8, and a cobra at that...i was hopin for a gt but this is awesome.

dont worry i wont forget my v6 friends ever...i've learned so much from people on this forum and even tho im gettin the cobra i'll probably still browse this forum cause theres always room to learn more and share what i have learned with other newcomers.

the decals werent painted over...he removed them when he repainted it, the decal kit is in the trunk. and ssstang, i know its not the fastest car...but im 16 and i drove it and i think its all the power i need.

The point to the "should have gotten an LS1 commnet"

He wants speed, you can get an LS1 for under 10k -
An LS1 > any cobra up to 03
An LS1 + 6speed = > in gas mileage

Well maybe he doesn't like ls1's.. I personally hate the body style. but for speed yea great car. But its ugly.

There will always be faster and quicker cars to buy.

But they will not devalue your stang to you and how you feel about it if you don't let them.

Good luck with it, and don't let what others "feel" bother you. Just go out and have some fun and laugh when they get all goofy about how "this or that car" is better for whatever reason they .

But there is always the argument of who likes what. Some people like the ford mod motors, while others like ls1's, and so on. It's preference. We obviously know your preference, but to always say that when someone is getting or has gotten a new car really demeans what we feel your ideas and thoughts are since you can't say anything nice about a person who is excited about their next car.

I think that is a great car for you, but please if anyway possible dont drive it everyday! That car will be worth some big bills here really soon and you dont want to have an afull amount of miles on it!

Well I talked to this guy on AIM before he posted this. Or maybe it was after but either way when somebody says they want a vehicle and their only "want" is speed theirs really no argument over the 98+ z28/trans am vs a mustang. The 03-04 cobra really doesn't have much of an argument since you can get a(an) LS1 for 10-15k cheaper. Its not really a preference its just a speed thing. Perfect example: I have a friend who last year wanted to sell his F150 and buy a GT, We found one in Dallas for 10,800 5speed with 18" cobra rims. I asked him why a GT and his reply was "I just want a fast car" I found an LS1 z28 on autotrader for 7,500$ and told him he should test drive that also. He drove the z28, and went to test drive the GT. Safe to say we left dallas with the z28, and now it runs 12.9s on junk street tires with only exhaust - No GT will do that
