Earthquake!!

So all within today, we have experienced 3 earthquakes today, 2 of them the largest in Oklahoma history! I dont know about these, i think i would rather stick to our tornadoes! Ha

Ya they are totally unexpected. They are real scary when they really start shaking.

Especially here in Oklahoma. First ones I have ever experienced. This last one about an hour and a half ago was a 5.8. Biggest ever here.

I went through the 8.7 earthquake back in the late 80's. That was scary.

why is it the mid-west has earthquakes? i remember watching something on natgeo or discovery but i forget.

I felt my first earthquake when my ship was in Haiti. It was one of the aftershocks of the one that initially hit. I don't remember what number it was but i doubt it was as high 5.8. Now I can sleep through a train wreck but at 4 am when the whole ship started shaking. I was out of my rack and ready to be a GQ in less than a minute. And thank god that didn't happen cause I would have been embarrassed as I think I shit a brick in my coveralls. Being on a ship my first thought was run aground or missle. So when I heard earthquake i was like

hell I didn't think it would shake a ship because we were in the middle of the water but it did.

Hope you guys don't have too much cleaning up to do.

we've had about 7 within a 10 day period biggest one was 3.9, but we are 30 years over due for a big one, oh snap

Ya its a scary feeling when your asleep and wake up to one, never experiencing one in your life, today alone we have had 13 quakes ranging from 3.0 to a 4.0

101, the answer you're looking for is fault lines and because of plate tectonics or however its spelled. Earthquakes are the result of the plates moving against one another and pressure being released. Simply put, at least.
