iPhone vs. Droid

Anybody on here that has had both please chime in. I'm honestly sick of my iPhone and wanted to know what some of you guys thought about droids?

It actually depends on which Droid your looking at. Some are better than the iPhone, some are worse (due to hardware, and carrier restrictions.)

I've used both and am thinking about taking the plunge to Windows Mobile.

AT&T had a new one I was looking at today. Not sure if I want to get it yet or not though.

Here's the real question you should be asking yourself:

1) Do I want the ability to customize my phone to my exact "specifications"?

2) Do I want more flexibility and function at the cost of being a bit more difficult to understand?

3) Do I want to be able to use whatever software I'd like without having to use proprietary technology?

If any of the above is answered "yes", then you want a droid. If not, then stay iPhone.

These are actually all the reasons that I want to switch. I like having iTunes but that is ALL that is keeping me on this phone.

I switched from the Droid, Droid X, Droid X2 and Droid Bionic. To the iPhone 4.. I like it a lot better.

The problem with your question is that Android is an operating system, and it's free. So it's on everything from cheap POS free-with-contract phones to high-end hardware. It's a bit like asking which is a better computer, a Mac or something with Windows? There's just SO much variance in the latter that it's impossible to give a solid answer.

A good high-end Android phone is every bit as good as an iPhone, and subjectively better depending on what you want/like. A cheap Android phone is a POS and the iPhone is significantly better.

So, what exactly is it that you don't like about your iPhone? What DO you like about your iPhone? Knowing that will let you know if one of the various versions of Android would be better for you.

its not popular as much as it is volatile lol. it never ends well and you will never get the answers your looking for. there will be iphone nut swinger and android nut swingers gallore.

oh yea get a android powered phone and dont skimp and get a cheap one. keep in mind it takes some getting used to the idea of having a phone you can actually do things with. it takes more to learn then just click button

This. If you're looking to spend $100 on a phone, get the iphone 4. If you're looking to spend $300 on a phone, get a high end android phone and it won't disappoint.

Alright. The vivid is the newest one AT&T has. It's $200 after upgrading. It's on the 4g network too.
Getting used to a phone is no big deal though.

I have the iPhone 4 now and am sick of the issues. It's my 5th one that apple has replaced.

I have the droid pro now. I don't like my brothers iPhone. The Bionic is bad ass. If you can get the HTC Thunderbolt then get it. Its an amazing phone. My friend has one and he said its the best phone he's ever had.

I'm in the same boat but i'm upgrading from a blackberry. The biggest driving factor was 4G only being in a few droids on verizon but not on the iphone. I think im still going for the iphone because i really dont need a ton of customization and dont want to spend $300 on a razr or bionic (especially when my entire campus has wifi so i really dont need 4g) Im not huge into apps either so i'll be fine with siri and whatever apps I have to actually buy

If you get a droid, do not, I repeat, DO NOT get a cheap one. I picked up a Samsung Gem, free with my upgrade, and it is the fanciest paperweight I have ever owned.
