First one was for my gf. It's an 04 V6



Next one is for me. It's an 04 GT



Both are 5 speeds, in beautiful condition, and $10k each. At first I thought it was a really high price for the V6 but KBB says it's right in that range through a dealership. We'll both be taking out loans for the vehicles so I assume it will be easier to get a loan for a dealer vehicle than private party - but correct me if I'm mistaken because I've seen some nice private party GTs/V6s for less. Planned on test driving both today but since my name isn't on the insurance card for my parents' vehicle (I'm covered under their insurance) and since the guy knew I wouldn't be approved for a loan today (no job, applying like crazy) they wouldn't let me drive either vehicle. But hopefully I'll land a job before they sell the GT and I'll be back into the modding game!

Took a good look over the outside of both vehicles before a sales guy came outside. Paint appears to be nearly flawless on both, V6 has fresh brake pads, GT needs new brake pads, V6 has an aftermarket muffler/tip, GT appears to have aftermarket mufflers but I couldn't get a good look at the midpipe, interiors look great, GT has tinted windows (looks to be ~20% and fairly new), and didn't get a chance to take a peek under either hood.

And while I was talking to sales guy (at his desk, surrounded by S197 Shelby GT 500s, Roushs, and Saleens) I noticed a Mach 1 sitting outside. It's out of my price range though

Been looking up insurance quotes on the GT and here's what I've come up with..

Progressive - $170/mo
Geico - $124/mo
State Farm - $184/mo
Allstate - $491/mo

Looks like Geico will be getting my business and I'm laughing my ass off at Allstate

The Mach is $20k. Has 15k miles on it. I'm trying to stay under roughly $10k for a Stang so my payments aren't too bad

KBB value or not, I wouldn't pay 10k for either of those cars. Don't get screwed over by some dealer. It's a buyers market out there right now, people are letting stuff go cheap because nobody hase any money. For 10 g's you could get a highly modded/clean fox, new edge, 99-01 cobra, etc. There's much better options for the money. Hit up craigslist or the corral classifieds.

I agree. My car is an 03 GT with 68k miles, charcoal leather seats, mach sound system and if someone brought me a $7,500 check right now it might be sold. Also private party sales don't make it harder to get approved for a loan. The bank will either lend you the money or not, doesn't matter who you're buying from.

Just a little something to keep in mind, cars are horribly expensive in my area. Like retarded expensive. I bought my old V6 for $2400 in Iowa and if it was still running I could easily get $4k+ out of it down here. Now knowing that it's no harder to get a loan for a private party sale, I'm going to keep my eye on CL and go have a talk with my bank once I land a job

One accident (totaled my 00 Firdbird when I was 16), no tickets. My insurance should drop next year since it will be over 5 years since my accident

ALSO, good luck on the job dude! Personally id go for that GT, its pretty sweet. As for the v6, 10k is a little high imho. It does look sweet though.
