Thanks to everyone that supports us and sends those nice care packages or just comes up to shake our hands. It makes us feel good to know someone we don't even know is proud of us and keeping us in their prayers.

speaking of canadians in afghanistan and shit... i know most american's probably don't realize the level of sacrifice that our neighbors to the north have made, but when i first got to kandahar, one of our infantry battalions had to cover a relatively large area so that the canadian unit there could be relieved. well, in only the 2 months that they were in this area, they lost 8 guys. and that was 2 months... the canadians were there for much longer than 2 months by the time they left and i can only imagine. i remember going to that little outpost for the first time and was just amazed at how small it was. it was basically a mortar pit with a few housing containers surrounding it.

and also while i was there, i participated in at least one assault where the canadians were providing tank support. they were basically running over IEDs so we wouldn't have to step on them lol. but those tanks could handle it so nobody got hurt thank god.

I'm both terrified and amazed the more I learn about what has and is still going on. But I'm just little. I get super emotional over everything.
