How much strain is it on a 5.0 to drive it 8hrs?
since i couldnt sell my stang im taking her with me. First things first i need to make sure to check things to make sure she can handle a 8 hr trip..so any help would be great to look for things. I will change the oil and get the coolant flushed...thats about it?
also, how much strain would it be to drive her 8 hrs? i will be cruising at about 2200rpm with 373 gears. Thanks again

cars are meant to be driven unless im missing some details about your car. You should be fine.

I drove mine at about 2500 for 7hrs. It will be fine as long as the fluids are all good.

Check for leaks, top off your fluids, check tire pressure, make sure you take a leak before you leave and you're good to go.

Cars are made to just cruise at steady RPM's. Keep an eye on your gauges and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Your car will probably undergo less strain in that 8 hours cruising along on the interstate than it would spending an hour in stop and go around town. You'll be fine. If my Bronco with 200k+ miles, carb'd 351W, C6 auto WITHOUT overdrive, cruising at 2800rpm on the highway can go for 7 hours one way, stop for 2 hours to cool off, and drive 7 hours back, you'll be fine. lol

I drove mine from Arizona to Iowa with zero problems. I'm pretty sure they design cars to be driven

Danger will robinson, Danger. Nah, your fine, i did the same scenario once, before i got on the road i had done:
Oil Change Windshield Wiper fluid check (F'inghighway bugs) checked all my lights cleaned the car out (added trashbag for munchies along the way) Fuel treatment into a full tank before jumping on the interstate |

Check the blinker fluid and the muffler belt. It's hard to find replacements for those out on the open road

I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere once because the muffler belt slipped off and it busted up all the muffler bearings. Turned out my turbo encabulator wasn't properly serviced. That's the last time I leave the house without an extra set of fetzer valves.

Usually I can only go 20 minutes non stop, but I have been known to break the 8 hour mark occasionally
