Overkill?

Like many others, I'm sick of the fake scoop on the hood. I am looking at this cowl from HO fibertrends. 1999-2004 Mustang 2 1/2 Inch Cowl Induction Hood
Will this hood be too over the top for a mustang with my mods? I think it will be okay, just want to hear some opinions.

No, not at all, but I'm a long time cowl hood fan. As long as it's no taller than 2.5", I think they look horny.

Im not a fan of your traditional cowl hoods. (were the middle is just raised) I am how ever a fan of the hood you posted. ("2 stage" cowl hood) I like the way its kind of 2 little steps up rather then just a strait down the middle raised hood.

I'm not a Cowl fan. So if you're tired of a non-functional scoop, just turn it into a functional scoop instead of getting a cowl?

different cowl brands measure out differently. a 2.5in in one brand can measure the same as a 3in in another. my 4in measures a little under 4in tall.

I really like that 3 tier style. Cowls or shakers are a must on new edges IMO

I just finished ranting about the fake ass scoop ford put on my GT

I really like the Trufiber Carbon Fiber 2.5 inch cowl hoods...they are pure sex. Kinda expensive but totally worth it.

I personally wouldn't go higher then a 2.5" on a car without the need for a higher rise but I found this painted 4" hood on craigslist for $250 and don't give a shit that it's a little overkill.
