best hard rock/metal albums 2011

as the year winds down, i realized i haven't heard much new hard rock/metal as the only local radio station that plays rock plays coldplay and other gay bands with them more frequently than anything good.

what were your favorite hard rock/metal albums that came out this year?

The FFDP album was good for awhile.

Children of Bodom's "Relentless Reckless Forever" was pretty solid

the new ffdp cd rocks. i also dont care if it came out in june 2010 but deep blue from parkway drive was still in my ears most of this year so to me it counts.

Cool bands I've heard this year-

The Devil Wears Prada, Dead Throne. It kicks ass start to finish. That is a pretty rare phenomenon these days. Not to mention most bands get worse as the albums go on, and they seem to actually be getting better. I wasn't too impressed with their first couple albums, but they've hooked me now.

Biggest disappointment of the year? A Day to Remember. They did a good job picking a single, because it was the only decent track on the album.

We Came As Romans: Understanding What We've Grown to Be is one of my favorites this year.



Also really like Leveler. I really liked In Flames new cd Sound Of A Playground Fading. Some people dont like it because its different then there old stuff but i think its amazing.
