Yes, I know... but that doesn't really affect fuel mileage. It's going up and down hills and/or driving in town that craps out your fuel economy.

I was thinking more along the lines of avoiding potholes and such. It's quite strange, we have the worst roads, but there is always construction on the interstate.

come drive in new york city we have constant stop and go, horseshit roads, and elevation changes. Fucking blows here

Yup, when the engine isn't under a load it kills four of the cylinders. So technically it does become a four banger.

Going 10 miles? Better bring a spare and expect the ride to take at least an hour. Avg. speed: 6 mph. There's a reason it's sometimes easier to just walk everywhere.

We averaged 25mpg in the expedition with the 5.4 3V on a 2300 mile road trip through mountains a few weeks back...
