ps3 help
every once in a while my ps3 won't load a blu rays ll be able to click on the movie in the ps3 menu, and then it just reverts to loading and never loads.
disc will work in a regular blu ray player, other blu rays work in the ps3, but that particular one is just not playable. has anyone ever ran into this issue before? personally at this point its cheaper to just buy a used one from gamestop, but if it's something simple that someone might have an idea about, i'm all ears. DO NOT turn this into an xbox vs ps3 debate. posts will be deleted. I have both and recognize the value in both, and don't really care to hear the debate for the 500,344,265 time |

Is the warranty period over? It sounds like you lost the BD drive.

I misread. Is your firmware up to date? Also, try turning off BD live first - that should cure the problem, it happened on my Oppo too.

It's some software shit that some blurays use to "update" their content from time to time. I don't own a PS3, so I don't know how to turn it off. According to a quick google search, you may not be able to, but you can ask it to prompt you and you can say no each time. That might work.

Sweet. So could you turn off the BD Live or is it a prompt now?

its a prompt...
my wifi is weak in my crib due to the materials in walls, all my neighbors experience it, getting a signal through 3 rooms in next to impossible.... the wifi card in ps3 is junk compared to the one in my laptops, and barely picks up the signal from my router, thus causing BD live to take forever to load.... i actually have to bring my ps3 into my bedroom to update it every few months or so due to not being able to play a new game.... |

I get fantastic internet and my oppo is connected with a cable and it still took upwards of 15 minutes before certain movies would load (I'm looking at you Back to the Future). I just gave up on it, all it really does is ad extra trailers before the movie starts. I don't want to watch commercials on my bluray that I own. So, I shut it down. It sucks you can't just eliminate it outright on the PS3.

it literally just asks at the beginning of the trailers... it's no biggie to click off on it... it's like 10 seconds after you click in the blu ray in the menu
