Let 'em swing

Abso-fucking-lutely despicable wastes of humanity.

Friends, video help unravel murder case

CUMBERLAND, Ind. (WISH) - The two suspects in the murder of a 21-year-old man and his 7-year-old niece told police different stories, while multiple other people shed light on the crime and events surrounding it.

Friends explained to police how the men obtained the murder weapon, sold stolen items from the home and tried to get them to hide evidence, according to a probable cause affidavit. And bus surveillance video may end up being an important component to the case.

Jeremy Priel and Michael Bell were both arrested in connection to the deaths of Kyleigh and Jeremy Crane on Dec. 12. An autopsy revealed the two of them died of gunshot wounds to the head.

The case began to come together after authorities tracked victim Jeremy Crane’s cell phone to a woman who told police two black males dropped the phone and told her to keep it.

That was on the No. 8 IndyGo bus. Police then tracked down bus surveillance video identifying the suspects "carrying what appears to be a very large bundled item(s).”

Surveillance video shows that Priel and Bell then got on a different bus. Video indicates one of the men was carrying a full back pack and the other was carrying large items wrapped in a blanket, the probable cause affidavit says.

"Technology and surveillance video has played a key in this investigation,” said Marion County Assistant Prosecutor Denise Robinson, who credits dogged police work by the Cumberland Police Department. The suspects will appear in Marion County Superior Court for their initial hearing Thursday at 9 a.m.

Officers interviewed people at the home where police believed Bell was living, and they said he was given a gun by a woman after having relations with her. Witnesses heard him say he intended to rob a pizza delivery guy. The gun given was determined to be the murder weapon, according to court documents. The woman told police the gun was stolen, but that she never reported it to officers. Police later discovered the gun in the woman’s room after the crime, along with a black glove and black T-shirt

On the afternoon of Dec. 12, witnesses in the same home said Bell returned and asked if anyone would pawn an Xbox and a PlayStation3 for him. People also reported that Bell paced nervously when he heard police helicopters in the area for an unrelated crime, and he wanted to watch the news.

Two men went to police with the Xbox and PlayStation after seeing the news coverage, because one of the gaming systems had blood on it. The men said they bought them from a guy named Jeremy — they pointed out Jeremy Priel from a photo — for $40 and an ounce of marijuana.

In a Dec. 16 interview after Bell went to the police station, police say Bell gave incorrect information to police, including the insistence that he was alone on a bus when video indicates that he wasn’t, court documents say.

Meanwhile, Priel seems to be pointing a finger at Bell. Priel told police it was Bell’s idea to go to the home, and Priel just waited in the car, according to the probable cause affidavit. Video from the bus shows Priel wiping fingerprints off a gun, which Priel admitted he did.

Another woman said Bell asked her to dispose of some jeans for him. She offered to wash them but he insisted they be thrown away, court documents say.

Cliff's notes:
These two scumbags break into a home, shoot dead a 7 year old girl and her 21 year old uncle, take an Xbox360 and a PS3, which they sell for $40 and an ounce of marajuana.

Two innocent young lives for forty fucking dollars and weed. What has humanity come to?

This is the kind of crime that calls for the criminals to be strung up in the center of town. Hang 'em high.

Disclaimer: No racial connotations are implied. Scum is scum, I don't care what color you are. Nooses are equal opportunity employers when you gun down two people in cold blood for drugs.

Anyone who hurts a child like that needs to be brutally beaten to death with something blunt, small, and heavy.

These two will burn.

I sometimes wonder how one "loses" a general respect for life. I then come to understand, that some never had it

Meister Zip..... MEGA props on the link in post #7 above and cannot possibly agree more

I am of a mind to confirm the guilt/innocence of a person, via DNA, witnesses, evidence and such, then a few years on DR to see if anything shakes out of the case. If a solid case for a stay or re-trial cannot be made.... hit the plunger I am clearly on the polar opposite end of the spectrum of AB, but he states his case better than anyone I have ever seen

I cannot imagine the horror of living through the scenario in which you so perfectly described within your post. The endless questions to self of "why did this happen" or "what were his/her last thoughts". To consider those emotions felt by the victims are the very definition of absolute.

Absolutely Jazzer. Couldn't agree more with being 100% certain and taking the proper amount of time before something as heavy as the ultimate justice is meted out.

It certainly comes across as melodramatic to portray a scenario in the manner I did there, but the reality is what I portrayed couldn't come close to what that reality would be like.

I disagree with letting 'em swing. From my understanding, when done properly, the drop will snap the neck and it's pretty painless.

Tie those two POS to a stake and burn 'em like a witch.

I think the prosecutor is going to have a field day, it's a pretty slam dunk case.

1.) Suspects obtain gun from a woman, they tell her that they're going to use it to rob a pizza delivery man. This gun has been confirmed to be the weapon used in the crime, and was found in their residence after the crime.

2.) Suspects are reported to act very nervous when police helicopters are in the area. Circumstantial, but relevant.

3.) The is video surveilance of the suspects on the bus holding the stolen items from the home.

4.) The suspects asked others if they could pawn an Xbox360 and PS3 (same as the ones taken from the home) for them.

5.) Suspects asked a woman to destroy bloody clothes of theirs.

6.) A cell phone stolen from the home was found by a woman who positively identified the suspects as the people who dropped it on a bus and told her to keep it.

On top of all that-
After a local gun store owner posting a $10k reward, the suspects OWN MOTHER ratted him out, and said she would get him to turn himself in.

This is beyond a reasonable doubt. And ol' sleazebag Jose Baez is too busy in Aruba to save this guys ass from justice. I can't imagine a lawyer that could defend these guys with a clean conscience. I'm not even sure this is worth a trial. I know that a good lawyer can pick apart the witnesses and seed reasonable doubt but come on. Multiple witnesses can put you in posession of stolen goods from the scene of the crime, you had blood on you, and you were in posession of the murder weapon. Quite honestly I would have zero faith in the legal system if these two are acquitted.

Times like this you wish to shed your more civilized instincts and return to something more base, more primal. You yearn for something along the lines of western (as in old west) justice. As if the gallows are the only residence these two are worthy of. Or perhaps take a page from 1940's Italy and give them the Mussolini treatment. Drag 'em out in the street and give them a dose of their own medicine.

I think the title says it all.

^ I agree

But, you and I both know, that it is absolutely necessary to defend ANYONE accused of a crime. As much as it pains me to see a convicted person represented with OUR tax dollars, I would not be able to comfortably say "let em swing" unless this was done. We wouldn't know this person were guilty, until this process was complete anyway. After all, SOMEBODY did this crime and it is more important to "swing" the right person(s), rather than just one that was accused.

A little off-topic, but I kinda brought it up...sorta... lol I feel that the names of the persons accused of this crime should NOT be known to the general public, until the verdict is in. Does anybody remember Richard Jewel?

Jazzer... Chief Justice
