GoPro HD HERO2... omg!

The HD HERO2: 2x as Powerful in Every Way - YouTube

The slow mo is the best part. I know some people that do a lot of ATV riding. Can get some awesome footage and pictures of it. This would also be amazing for out-of-state car shows and such that I attend.

Zat I was just looking at one of these. Check out my thread in the pictures forum, which I changed the title of, and is now named 'Canon T3i'.

The Hero2 is very one dimensional. The one thing it does, it does tremendously well. The 1080p wide angle HD action video, the slo-mo shots you mentioned, it's waterproof to 60M.

But it is a very niche type camera. In low light, it does not perform well. It's still shots are average at best, and in low light the still shots are even worse. The built in mic doesn't pick sound up very well at all when the waterproof case is on. You can purchase an external mic for it, but won't be able to use the waterproof case when it's plugged in. It has no viewfinder or lcd display. Although you can purchase something called a 'Bacpac' which will enable you to preview shots. It doesn't have zoom. You can change the 'zoom' by changing the focal distance, or field of view, from 170 degrees to 127 or 90 degrees, effectively shortening things up... but it doesn't have zoom. The battery life is subpar.

The camera is great at the one thing it does; shooting high quality action 1080p HD video with a very wield field of view. It's very durable, waterproof to 60M, and has a cool variety of accessories and different mounts.

Just do your homework before dropping 300+ bucks.

Check out this in-depth review as well.
