Finally ran a 1/4 mile track :)

I went to Richmond Dragway last night for the AED Street Shootout. Got 4 runs in due to a frickin' 1-1/2hr cleanup due to 2 oil downs back to back. Also finally sprayed the car for the 1st time and with having to coast the car since it hitting the rev limiter at about the 1200ft mark, still ran a 10.32 @ 119mph. This was w/ a 150 shot. I'm knocking on the 9's, just gotta tune a little more.

Sounds like you are a set of gears away from the 9s. Or a new ignition away from the 9s. Those Digital 6s are all junk. The rev limiters fail on them as do the timing retard sometimes. I've yet to see a digital 6 that hasn't failed. Get a Digital 7 or a good old 6AL box.

You got it! It's the rev limiter that's the problem. If I set it to 6500, then it starts bleeding in at 5300, so I bumped it up all the way to the max, and it hits it at 6100. Still I was happy running a 10.32 while pedaling it the last 100ft or so. it definitly has more there as my mph should have been in the high 120's or 130's for that et.

Oh. That should be perfect then. Are you running a 28" tire?

How does it 60 foot at 16 psi? We've always run about 12-13 but that was with a smaller tire. I am thinking about running a big drag radial on my car too.

1.58-1.65 usually. I feel it should 60ft better but w/ stock type arms in the stock locations, I don't know how I can get them better.

Draw a line with shoe polish across the tire and rim. Have someone video tape the tire when you launch so you can watch it in slow motion later and see how bad the tires spin. Running that ET you should be 60 footing low 1.4xs or high 1.3xs. There is alot more ET left in your car.

Well, talked w/ msd and they said the box is operating correctly but probably picking up rfi from somewhere on the car. Had to laugh at the guy because he told me to confirm this, turn on the radio when the condition is present and I might also hear it through the speakers. If I had a radio in the car, I wouldn't be able to hear it under those conditions.

What part number coil do you have? According to MSD the only coils compatible with a Digital box are 8207, 8252 and 8253.

well, swapped over to a msd 7al-3 and protower hvc coil and bingo. Went back to RD last night and ran a best of 10.45 @ 133.6 mph. It will pull the full quarter now and then some Car was definitly spinning the tires last night. Talked w/ a track official and he said on nights where a lot of imports are gonna be there they do absolutely nothing to the track as far as traction aids or there would be halfshafts everywhere. So I'm happy with my times, especially since I got both of my best times( other run was 10.48 @ 131.5) looking out the pass side window at some point or another during the run.
