Back from Carlisle!! (FORDS AT CARLISLE 2007)


Carlilse was at its best this year!! lots and lots of good stuff, a friend of mine i went with has the pics and put together a slide show of it, theres hundreds more, but this is it for now, so more to come!!

Takes me back the Falcons, with a punched and stretched 289 maxed out were the only cars that gave my 64 Chevy II a good run for the money. That was when street racing was a blast. I think the Falcons had 3.90 gears and I had 4.11s. You just listen to the cam lope and go that is a Ford I want to race. I had an Isky “505” cam fuely heads fender well dump headers, two 600 Holley’s on top of a Weiand tunnel ram with 12.5 pistons tube axel and glass front end she run low 11s and for 1971 that was f-ing fast! Loved that car! Ran class C/HR that would be C /hot rod

im guessing its that rare ohc engine that ford made. i dont remember the specs or anything though. very few were made and none went into production cars. am i right?

Well the engine was a Ford Produced engine built especially for the 60's Lemans and is worth thousands of dollars and its name is the "GURNEY EAGLE" so there you have it
